How tall is Vader?:D

As quoted from a reproduction of the Original Movie Script

Episode IV
A New Hope

From the
JOURNAL OF THE WHILLS

by
George Lucas

Revised Fourth Draft
January 15, 1976

LUCASFILM LTD.

on page 3 near the bottom:

"INT. REBEL BLOCKADE RUNNER - MAIN HALLWAY

The awesome, seven-foot-tall Dark Lord of the Sith makes his
way into the blinding light of the main passageway. This is
Darth Vader, right hand of the Emperor. His face is obscured
by his flowing black robes and grotesque breath mask, which
stands out next to the fascist white armored suits of the
Imperial stormtroopers. Everyone instinctively backs away
from the imposing warrior and a deathly quiet sweeps through
the Rebel troops. Several of the Rebel troops break and run
in a frenzied panic."

Vader is 7 foot tall according to Lucas and written in the Original script, so a 1/6 version would be 14" tall. Period!!!!!

You can read the rest here if you like.

Now we're bringing the script into the conversation, wow. :panic: Seriously, have you watched the movies? Then you know the script, at least that portion is completely irrelevant. Have you read about the insane number of details that were changed from script revision to script revision and then again in pre and final production? Yeah, Vader's height must have been one of those things because he's not 7' in the films. None of the other elements of that quoted script were in the movie either. No blinding light, no rebel troops backing away form Vader as he enters the ship, no flowing of the robes and no faces being obscured by same robes.

The script is the ultimate "I don't give a rat's a55 about it" examples, even more so than production-specific prop-construction elements that aren't part of the characters or franchise universe's "reality." I wasn't involved in the production of the movie, so like most people I only have the final results to go by. Maybe some people would be more interested in collecting McQuarie concept figures. Well good news, Sideshow is releasing some. :horror

I don't even like calling the first movie ANH, it'll always (really) be Star Wars to me.

A lot could have been different. But who knows how the whole thing would have worked out. Glad things ended up the way they did as a whole.

I always saw Vader as the military major general ...

Er, I meant four star general. (major general is actually bellow general)

What is that picture from? He looks like he is conducting an orchestra or something. :lol

The neck piece on mine is a son of a ***** to get off. I tried pliers and it didn't budge. I stopped and ended up not taking it off. Anyone else have this problem?

Place the upper body in some hot water for about 30 seconds and that neck piece will come out easy-peasy. I tried this personally and no tools were needed.

Thanks man. I've used the hot water quick a lot but only on vinyl and softer material but never on plastic. I would have been afraid of cracking and/or stress mark on the plastic.

I after going over all the pieces of the V1 and V2 Vader I think I like the the ANH Vader helmet more than the new one, accuracy aside.

That's a "modern major general"...

FUN FACT: Linda Ronstadt is in that movie, George Lucas dated Linda Ronstadt, Modern Major-General is a song in that movie, Indiana said Vader is a modern Major-General... conincidence???

ARRGH! Toy Anxeity's shopping cart really sucks. Wondering why I hadn't received any emails about the transaction I went back on the site today and noticed that there were still items in my cart. But now some of the hands were no longer available and only a single Vader right grip was in stock. Checked PayPal and no transaction had been processed. WTF? So I put through the transaction again and it seems to have taken this time. I went through all the same steps I did yesterday, including PayPal auth, then ticking an agree to terms button on TA and then clicking the process button. On top of everything because some items were now missing, my total was below their minimum and I had to add more to the cart to check out. Ended up getting a second spare hilt. Looks like I'll have a complete CCFL and Hilt assembly for sale soon.
