sign of the collecting times...some people want their cake & eat it too

your right it is a sign of the times. I dont remember there being such a fuss about this with the all the ninjas. it might also be just that this is Snake Eyes! This is the major reason many people watched Gi Joe as kids in the first place. SS needed to knock it out of the park and they hit a foul ball. The Viper was a home run.. Snake Eyes needed to be a 500' bomb.

Me, I couldn't agree more with all three of you.

The funny thing is it is kind of easy to agree with all points good and bad on this one :lol

On one hand the price is ridiculous for what you get... but then if I think about how much people spent to mess with the Snake Eyes V1 I imagine a lot spent at least $200 total with a body upgrade, swap out the boots and pick up a Timber stand-in.

So on the surface $200 for a (supposedly) better body, 2 heads, extra clothing bits and Timber isn't so bad.

But then if you consider this costs $10 less than a near perfect Reeve Superman it again seems kind of silly.

Bummer Sideshow didn't just stick with a solid Timber sculpt; I appreciate the effort as I'm sure it took a lot of work... but the final product just looks bad.

Highly articulated + Fur = Fail :lecture

I can't believe that some people are complaining of re-hashed parts. All the Joes have featured re-hashed kit of some sort.
Looking at the figure I think it's getting an overly harsh response, yes, it's not perfect but I think it's salvageable. Sideshow just needs to listen to some constructive feedback on this prototype.

You're missing the whole point. At this price point, most everything on that figure should be original. The whole reason Hasbro did it back in the day was to cut cost and keep the pricing the same for all the figures. With the overgenerous amount of rehashed ____ loaded up on this figure, the price is absurd.

That's not even close to true but I do like this figure. I reason that since its my money I'm spending for these items that it's ok. If others feel differently that's cool but I'm not concerned that much about it.

I'm just keeding Rusty, and for the record Josh didn't like Indy at first...then he saw my pics and bought him. :duff

That would be incorrect as well. :)

Pamela Vorhees?

wow. Now matter what SS does they will never make everyone happy right?

Not true, I was A-OK with every release so far besides Cherry Coke Commander. Hell, I even like Dusty and NO ONE likes Dusty. I even gave Rock N' Roll & Zartan the pass for the price.

You got me with the Superman comparison. God damn Dr. D, that hit too close to home. Supes and this Snake Eyes are worlds apart. :slap

With all the great Commando customs I get the dismay over Sideshow's figure not being a grand slam. If it looked almost exactly like the 1/5 scale statue it would have been IMO.

I *do* think the visored version is a home run this time around. It really looks awesome, especially without that coat on. And I'd like to see anyone post a 1/6 scale wolf currently available to the public that looks better than this new Timber.

If you saw that wolf packaged at TRU for $52.99, would you buy it?

Now THIS is funny!

Late to the party, but I stopped by Sideshow and checked out the pics before I stopped in this thread.

After seeing the pics, I am reading exactly what I expected to.

And I noticed most of the items people are complaining about but I like it anyway. It is badass and I will get it. 2 exclusives if they allow. And I like Timber. I have no issue whatsoever with the joints as I fully understand that if I want articuation, I WILL sacrifice aesthetics.

I am surprised that the snarling head ended up as the exclusive item, though. Strange choice in my opinion.

This man R smart.

Aside from the somewhat wonky sweater, and one other small issue, I've got no major issues. Much like Firefly, he will get a different uniform. However, In snake's case, he just needs a different sweater for me to happy.

and what Luck, I've still got my loading toys one.

The Other issue?
The price.
Ouch.

Not necessarily. But "ouch, a little too rich for my blood," is a far cry from "wow that's worse than a four dollar toy at Michael's."

I'm NOT saying that this SE isn't overpriced. I'm just saying its worth at least noting that it IS the best SE ever released.

Not necessarily.

That's all you really need to say. Because that's exactly what's bringing this piece to $199.99. :lol

I think anybody with even a smidge of common sense would laugh at $52.99 for a 1/6 articulated plastic wolf with a "yawning" extra head and walk away shaking their heads (unless your some husky broad from Minnesota or Montana who has a closet full of knitted wolf sweaters).

To me he'll only be the best SE ever because I have version 1. Between the two I can make a kickass Snake. That's the ONLY reason he's worth picking up...or at the least his parts.

He'll fit right in with Beto's Beetlejuice. :monkey3

A thought. it's very possible that the " giraffe neck" is simply caused by the Photography guys not pushing the head down far enough onto the neck post.

So Flosi is Alex P. Keaton now.

Nah, just feeling the crunch is all.

Sideshow has also been using the longer neck joint, most recently with the Cobra Viper.

I just snatched up the two remaining skin-colored short neck joints that TA had in stock. Just in case.

it's not so much that. If you look, in a few of the shots, you can see the top part of the neck of the shirt sticking out behind the head. Indicating ( to me) that the head is not pushed on all the way.

That's entirely possible. You can see Stalker's wrist pegs in the close-up with the sword. :lol
