I envy those who were able to pick up version 1..
Messing up Dusty's paint apps was almost acceptable since he is just a nobody in the cartoons and comics.. But why mess up Snake Eyes?

I have to admit, I was really looking forward to this. Building up the Joe and Cobra collection a bit. I've got Storm Shadow, Firefly, Cobra Officer, Viper, Duke, Beach Head, and Hawk. They're well done 1/6 figures and the most attractive thing about collecting them is their relatively affordable price compared to other stuff in the 1/6 market now. Doesn't seem to be the case anymore with this one. It makes me wonder how much the women are going to cost if they develop a new body for them.

Well, there is a problem with that last sentence. He doesn't come with a commando sweater. He has the college kid North Face jacket.
. I am glad that there are few takers on this one, but it is just mostly old parts. Too bad they missed the boat on this one. Heck, they didn't even hit the cruise ship. I agree with everything that Nam has said on this one.

It does kind of look like that now that you mention it.
I'm not sure why it's so difficult for Sideshow to translate the 1/5 statue of Snake Eyes and Timber to 1/6 scale. I'm on the fence with this $200 figure. My wife said, "really?" I'm on my 3rd time changing the pants on my Snake Eyes kit bash to increase poseability. I'm one of those that purchased the Waypoint diorama to get Timber; $50 on eBay. Like many who were not satisfied with the 1st version of Snake Eyes, I went and created a kit bash.

For every announced figure I think I'm going to just withdraw $250 from my bank account and place it on a GI Joe stand then place it on my display shelf for joes.

Beyond the bulky sweater, SS could fix the googles to match the SE statue. It would help overall appearance.

It does kind of look like that now that you mention it.
The body is the same except for new forearms. Clothes? Yes some of the clothes are new, but the new knee pads are rather cheap looking compared to the first version of Snakes. New heads are a given in a new figure. But, even so, they aren't without problems ( well to be honest... The v2 head does look good). Timber? I would rather have him with no joints. Is a jointed "25 dollar plus" wolf really necessary? I don't see a personal need for "action" Timber. Plus the one piece that they should have reused was omitted from this release. Which I don't get. Hello Stalker!! Snake Eyes needs your sweater!
An updated body is an updated body. We don't call the Pro 1.2 just the same old 1.0 with some minor tweaks, we call it a better base body. If you want to complain about how the head or the wolf looks go right ahead.
But its really ironic to read post after post of "SE the rehash" when his entire outfit, body, and of course wolf companion are all new. Only his weapons and I'm guessing harness are recycled which actually makes him one of *least* rehashed of all Joes.

Because the gloves and boots aren't rehashes either! 
The point is, they're using the accessories to push the price. Outside of the yawning wolf, they're all essentially reused. The other Joes might've done the same, but they were $70 cheaper ON the new body. Zartan and R&R have just as many new parts as well as the new body and still check in at $50 less.

What is new in the outfit? Spandex undershirts new? Not really. Jacket? Sure. Pants? Sure. Harness? no. boots? No. Gloves? I don't think so. So what you are saying a new pair of pants and a jacket constitutes a new outfit?
Pants, shirt (yes the shirt is new), jacket, headgear. I call that an "outfit." Literally only his gloves and boots are recycled as far as clothes are concerned. Don't get me wrong, I really wish he had some new weaponry, but he still shares a lot less with other Joes than say Duke or Flint.

Well, I admit even the SS timber is better than this one of mine...But, I also paid like $15 - $20 for it I think...From a set that Hasbro put out I think...The tongue could stand a repaint, and it has a bad neck seam...But I was happy with it....

Thats the big issue here...For $200.00, you shouldnt have to change uniforms, or this or that...If your gonna do all that, might as well bash one...Its hard to compare this to Ver. 1, because that one was alot cheaper...And I was pretty happy with him outta the box mostly....
