Tell that to Rex, CW Anakin, and my Battle Droids. Soon the only SW figure I'll own will be SSC's ESB Yoda (until Fett and HT Luke arrive anyway.)

But otherwise you're right, Classic SW does indeed trump reimagined Joes.

I'm thinking about trimming my PT's as well (maybe even some OT like the Ex Han & Luke, etc). I'd limited myself to only armored figures, but for some reason, with Gree, they just lost the appeal to me. It might've been the "stealth" clone and the green money-grab one.

Make it so, materfustzer! :lecture:lecture:lecture:exactly:

Ookey dokey :)

I think this is my Snake Eyes version 17.2 :lol

I have never bashed, futzed and swapped so much on any one figure ever. I wish I had saved shots of every variation SE has seen. I would guess no less than 10. True Story.

Perfect visored SE imo, nice work.

Fact that it sold out on BBTS means nothing, did it sell out at SS?

People are obviously deferring to BBTS to save some bucks on a new overpriced figure for a V2

You are correct in that saving a few bucks made it sold out fast, but you cannot ignore that the newbs, according to the seniorita, which do not have the first vesion, like this enough to buy it. The more popular and praised reeve Superman is still available in both sites.

All the pictures of the different mods done by people on the first version are great and that is how the figure should look, but as it is, I like it enough to buy it as I do not have the first one.

I think the critics have forgotten what was shipped to them a few years ago and the flaws that they have fixed themselves with the body swaps and all. Here's the new and the old (out of the box). Side by side, which would you prefer? I'll swap a sweater vs. the body, thanks.:lol

Would be a completely different story if the modern pic you posted wasn't wearing accessories meant to update the old figure.

I would like to ask for ball joint ankles and stretchable fabric for the hip/leg joins and knee joints! Yo Joe!

I think that might be the case, specially the 'expert senior' who just meep coming with dumb excuses as to why the first version is still better than the new one out of the box.

That was the reason I did not get it at first. And then I saw all the mods done making it look great. But it needs a whole new body, stripping everything off. Good thing I waited for this new version that might not need as much work as the first one.

For comparison purposes and no sarcasm intended this set is the one I will display over the V1. This visor blows the other out of the water.

I agree with Khev ....just saying...

The price point still burns my ass. SSC likely just wanted to have people eat up some of their reward points.

The first release wasn't $199.99 genius. Even with the replacement body, it was still $60 cheaper, but I guess math his hard for ya. :wave

He isn't the one who is mathematically challenged. How many characters came with the first release? That's right: one. This new set is specifically billed as a two-pack. And how much did you used to have to pay to get SE and Timber from SSC? Here's a hint, it wasn't 199.99.

Regardless of whether you consider Timber to be a character or an accessory, he wasn't included in the first release without buying the wall! Complaining about a markup when he IS included as if its another barebones SE release is really quite ridiculous.

So we're back to this. If you were in TRU, and saw one hanging on a peg, would you be paying $52.99 for an articulated 1:6 wolf? If Sideshow had released Timber separately for that same price, with the exception of Josh, how many here would actually bite?

We're not "back to this." That's a completely separate discussion that has nothing to do with whether or not SE and Timber was cheaper to get from Sideshow the first time around. You've been acting as if that were the case when it simply was not.

If Sideshow had released Timber separately for that same price, with the exception of Josh, how many here would actually bite?

Does Josh have 750 separate Sideshow accounts? Because that's how many people paid not $53, but rather $130 extra to get Timber the first time. You think people were lining up to get the Recon set because of that dumb wall? :lol
