Re: Sideshow Spider-Man Comiquette

LOL, we all know Spidey's MO...since he was late to the game:

Every older piece he couldn't get his hands on - "Sucks, too many flaws, they'll make a better version" !!

Every new piece he can preorder - "OMG, greatest sculpt Ever. A Winner" !!

Oh NO!!! See my tune is changing as I have more time to study these statues... Um STATUE.

This doesn't suck... None of the old Grails DO! I am seriously considering looking for this one down the road! I will be totally honest and say that probably wouldnt go for say the Cap, Thor,or Hulk PFs mostly because they are out of my price range, and I do hope they make new versions of those guys (the Hulk Maq rocks) However, that doesn't mean they will make "Better" versions of them, just newer ones that I can better afford, and maybe more detailed. When I look at the original PFs I see the classic Comic book versions of them. From the level of detail to the paint jobs, and I KNOW that is exactly what they are suppose to be. I am more of a fan of the more modern more detailed comic book art so that is what I would love to see in a PF. I am Keown over Kirby so to speak.

As for this Com, it ROCKS, but it is missing something that has been drawn on Spidey since the days of Ditko, and that is an outline dot the nose. Add that and this is "perfection", with out it and it is still AMAZING, and I would be lucky to own it anyway.

Oh and I responded too... And I DO have passion for these pieces. They are a combination of my fav types of art... Sculpture and comic books....:yess:
Same here....love comics and love the statues. I'm sure people that walk into my TV room must shake their head...but they just don't get it lol (at least the majority like it though) !!

I haven't yet got as many statues as you but when I used to collect 1/6 figures my mates didnt really pay that much attention to them, just got the odd "that's cool" here & there but since moving over to statues I've been getting a pretty cool reaction to them. Even my wife's girl friends have been really looking at them. My wife's actually got a close friend who is an Artist, she loved the Jocker PF, she was even taking pictures of it. If only I had the Spider-Man Com to show her as well :(

I can't wait till build up my collection with some more classic characters, and the Spiderman Com may very well be MY Spiderman statue eventually.

Re: Sideshow Spider-Man Comiquette

What do guys think of the Spider-Man PF? I'm thinking of trying to get one this payday if I can pick one up for £500.

Re: Sideshow Spider-Man Comiquette

Doom, Thor, Caps, Spidey, Hulk all the Grail pieces I want :clap

After drooling over SU display. I just managed to secure Thor :yess:
I never thought I would of being this when I wrote that earlier :)

2 Grails down, 2 Go. Ha, a month ago I had none.

Congrats man! :rock You're going to need a new list of grails to secure at the rate you're going.

Re: Sideshow Spider-Man Comiquette

Thanks Kinq. Would be nice to add the Grey Hulk to my list of Grails but I've given up on that one before I've even started :lol

Thanks Spidey. Wolverine, I managed to get the Ex to. Really important one for me as Wolverine is my favourite Marvel character :)

I was looking at Mambas pictures in his show your shelves thread. I didn't realise how short Wolverine is compared to his other PF's. Not that that ruins anything for me.

Been a good month so far though. Wolverine, Thor to look forward to at the end of the month & the best news was when my wife told me on Sunday that were going to be having another child :yess:
