Literally have no idea what tylerdurden, Tyer, Ash Housewares, and KrisSolo are talking about... I thought this was a great movie... And everyone in my cinema was making overwhelmingly positive comments (that I could hear) after the movie finished. Not to mention all of my friends/family on Facebook have been making positive comments about it, as well as nearly everybody I speak to about Skyfall face to face.

Obviously it's your respective opinions, but it's almost as if you were watching a completely different movie to the majority of the cinema-going population :dunno

I sometimes feel the same when I love a movie and others say it was complete crap.

I wanted to come out of the cinema on a high, but it just didn't do it for me. My favourite Bond film is From Russia With Love which by today's standards is slow. So it can't be that I can't handle watching slower films.

I enjoy lots of slow films. Slow doesn't always mean boring. This film however was very boring. So much boring dialog and the action was underwhelming and anticlimactic. Oh and for god sake Man up Bond. That's several times Daniel Craig has cried as Bond. *****.

Also I don't recall seeing or hearing any audience interaction to any part of the film. Even the parts that were meant to be funny.

Not even the

Jumped up little sh it part?

Or

The reveal of the DB5? Every bloke in our cinema went "ooooohhhhhhh" at that part!

The only part I really started laughing was when
he flipped open the ejector button in the db5:lol

Someone's uploaded the new everything or nothing feature doc on the tube btw. NICE:D

SKYFALL tickets for tomorrow already bought. The real question is how do I dress? Black tie? Or Daniel Craig trunks?

Because like everything on this board - so many people critique everything that comes down the pipeline. They are never happy. They analyze every detail of a statue, figure, movie lol
Nothing better to do.

I like bond. Like watching this type of movie. Odds are I will like it. But it doesn't have to be "the bestest movie ever" either.

Not that I can recall. That's not to say no one in the audience did, but definately no obvious mass reaction.

There were a lot of groans every time a lame joke fell flat. Looked like everyone couldn't wait to leave the the cinema. I thought the hurt locker was the most over rated movie of all time. We have a new winner. Everyone I speak to loves it yet most of the ppl in my screen didn't. I think it's obvious when a screening is successful just from the atmosphere in the theatre when ppl leave. Silent usually means people were bored or unimpressed and if ppl walk out talking or laughing it usually means they had a good time.

I watched Skyfall the day after release in a completely full cinema. I was hoping for an amazing experience. But what I saw was very average.

I honestly feel that many or most in the audience felt the same. Because while I was sitting there wondering why I was bored whilst watching a Bond film I noticed that a number of people within earshot were actually having conversations about other things.

Also I don't recall seeing or hearing any audience interaction to any part of the film. Even the parts that were meant to be funny.

Then a group got up and walked out never to be seen again.

I then started wondering why the film felt like at had been on for to long and started hoping it would just end so I could go.

I initially thought to myself I should give it a second go on Blu Ray to see if I change my mind. But after talking about it with a work collegue who is a bigger Bond fan than I am. We both decided that in our case Casino Royale was awesome, but Quantum Of Solace along with Skyfall are both **** and not worth more than one viewing.

Wow, there's just no hope for some people :thud:

I'm no massive Bond fan, but this is easily the best. Everything you would associate with Bond was in this film.

I wanted to be able to walk out at the end and say 'wow, now THAT was a movie.' And WOW. It really was.

A fantastic cinematic experience, and if people can't appreciate that, they need help :clap

Maybe this is a case of a fan liking their idolised subject so much that they end up not being able to do anything than criticize.

OR... maybe different people just have different opinions about different things. It'd be nice if you guys learn to respect them, instead of slagging them off by saying we have "nothing better to do"?

i like what i like, and don't like what i don't like. simple. it's an honest opinion and has absolutely nothing to do with wanting to "critique everything". and btw, i clearly said i liked skyfall in general, just that it had some issues.

as for reviews, i think this one nailed it on the head. summed up exactly my sentiments (and notice how it is mostly positive).

You could be right. But although I think Connery is the best Bond, I generally have likes and dislikes from every Bond actor and all the varying styles of Bond picture throughout the decades.

I definately went in all positive about this one with intention of finding fault.

So I don't believe I hold these films to such a high standard that it was bound to fail to live up to my standards.

I'd like to believe that I'll see the next one two years from now and think it was awesome.

As far as moviegoers go, it seems there are wild extremes as to how people feel about this film. Either it's the best Bond movie since the 60's or it's a huge letdown.

All I can say is, the trailer was amazing. But I am hesitant going in now. I mean it's really disappointing many people I see on many different sites. :dunno

The Sky just Fell. First half? Meh... Second half? Incredible. Best Bond yet? Not for me. Best Craig? Just a hair below CASINO ROYALE. Best ending to a Bond film? Absolutely.

that's quite interesting because i feel the opposite, where the first half was pretty good, and the 2nd half kinda fell apart... especially after that courtroom scene. i still liked the end showdown, but the way it was resolved was a big meh for me.

The court room scene was actually the turning point for me. I was hooked! Before that, it was just kinda "been there, done that. Not as good as CR." Then BAM! I loved the final showdown and the nods to Bond's past.

I enjoyed how the pre-title sequence went full Brosnan retard. I actually chuckled a few times.

The ending gave me a geek boner.

:lol:lol In that everything or nothing documentary Brosnan actually takes the piss out of die another day and the kite surfing part haha what a legend!
