Hard to believe they cast her again as Octopussy. Not that there was anything wrong with her but its just bizarre that it wasn't seen as a bit silly having the same actress playing a different Bond Girl in another of the Roger Moore Bonds. You just wouldn't do that today.

I barely remember the stories, but I always thought it was the same character who'd assumed a different identity.

I don't think so, if memory serves she died in TMWTGG. Could be wrong though, haven't watched that one recently. And I may not have been paying enough attention to her characters backstory in Octopussy when I did watch that recently.

It just seemed in the scene of their meeting that they "remembered" each other and played it out like that was the case. Hence her bedding him so readily - even for Bond. :lol

edit: NVM, apparently they made it a pedo-ey thing with her wanting to meet and hump bond as a thank you for something to do with her father, who Bond was assigned to find when she was little. :lol

It's no different to when Charles Gray played Henderson in You Only Live Twice, then Blofeld in Diamonds Are Forever. Or Joe Don Baker as Whitaker in The Living Daylights, then Jack Wade in Goldeneye and Tomorrow Never Dies.

In the minds of the producers, if you can accept a different actor playing James Bond, you can accept an actor playing two different roles.

Nah, her character died in The Man With The Golden Gun.

Except I hated Charles Grey as Blofield. Good god, why did they make him so....weird?

That drag scene kills me inside.

I was unaware or had forgotten about Charles Gray. But the Joe Don Baker thing - thats 2 different Bonds/continuities. Casting the same actress as a Bond girl in 2 different Roger Moore films was a bit wierd. It'd be like if Gemma Arterton (sp?) were to be in Craigs next Bond, this time as the primary Bond girl.

Gemma Arterton is good at changing her look. If I didn't know it was her in Prince of Persia I would've never guessed it was her (she was scorching hot. The only good thing about the movie)

She could probably get away with a second role in a Bond film.

I dunno. Even though it was a different Bond, seeing the villain from two films prior playing Bond's ally was still pretty weird :lol

I thought Ben Kingsley was good as Jafar.

Every time I see Ben Kingsley in certain films I shake my head and think "You're better than this". He's got GeneHackmanitis. It's an affliction where good actors do B-movie crap for the paycheck, even though they probably don't need it. Do you remember the last movie Hackman did before he retired? That's OK, he doesn't either. It was crap.

They need to make an Austin Powers Captain Action figure, I just want to see a figure called "'Dr.Evil' Dr.Evil."

Only just saw this for the first time tonight. I thought it was great. I had listened to the score first and didn't rate it but maybe now that I know I like the film the score will come good too. I was also a bit miffed when I heard that the gun barrell wasn't at the beginning when this was Craig's third film...but like others...because of the way they did it I can kinda forgive them.
