Could it become a "grail"? Sure but we're a long time away from finding that out. It will most likely not be for 2-3 years before we know, but it is a piece I think that's totally worth getting. It was I would say one of my top 2-3 pieces from comic-con last year.

Here's a shot I took with my iPhone.

Yeah, I probably didn't spend enough time in front of that one. I was busy admiring the Boromir maquette and the Wolverine LSF, heh. Oh, and the Cobra Commander PF was there and made me glad I already had him ordered. SDCC is getting close again... just got the hotel taken care of as a matter of fact.

i consider every statue i buy an automatic grail, so there :nana:

really want to goto comic con this year & checkout all the cool stuff..at least once like a bucket list item, but everytime i ask any of my friends to go they all just laugh at me :(

We did Thursday badges last year and I sucked it up and got in line early that morning for 2012 badges, so we scored 4-day with preview night for this year. We're pretty psyched.

Yeah, it's something you need to do once. This year wi be my 8th time and it's something that I still get excited about months in advance.

The lotr items I must have looked at so many times. Just a great display with how they were setup.

Whoa, they sold the 2012 badges at last year's convention? Is that a new practice?

Nope, they've done that for years. Now, they don't sell all of them on site to be fair to those not going. Saw a post in the sdcc 2012 thread that said starting this year no badges will be sold on site.

you guys should just play lord of the ring online and be done with it. It's the definitive lotr game and you get to party with other hobbit-loving nerds! :yess:

I downloaded it when it was free but it kept telling me i needed to 'buy points' or something to begin. I'll get around to it.

Still think the best LOTR games are the EA ones - ROTK, TTT, the Battle for Middle-Earth games....

The Hobbit is good fun too!

It's just different man, all those are single player games you play through. LOTRO is a living breathing world with thousands of real people running around and all the famous cities and dungeons, it's many many times larger and constantly getting updated/expanded. At beginning they do a good job keep you focused on the storyline and you may not realize what's going on, but as you progress and the world opens up to you then you will get the true understanding what the game is about.

You can also build your own house and decorate it.

I just read through this entire thread, and I gotta say my interest in this piece has been rejuvenated. I have a feeling that this will be one of those pieces that will floor anyone who sees it!

Well said Chargersfan, I think you may be right. :lecture

I know all who saw it at SDCC were impressed. :yess:

Even any pics I have seen of he look great, but it's when you see it in-hand...that is when the full awesomeness is revealed. :yess:

It floored me when I saw it almost last July.

I think I'll pick him up, too from a local retailer, so no taxes and a reasonable price.
Just no idea where to place this monster.

Yeah, you said it. I'm gonna adjust my Flex-pay for the Snow Troll and pay 1/2 in April and the other 1/2 in May. No way that I'm waiting till August on the current flex schedule.

Yeah, I couldn't wait until August either. :lol

I do believe you will like this and if you can save money doing so the better.
