Seems to me like no one knows or cares who Edwards is.

I don't see what's wrong with a studio stepping in and "fixing" a movie like this, personally. These Star Wars movies are no longer anything resembling artistic statements. They're commercial products, developed with the intention of appealing to as many audience members as possible. Same as Marvel Studios. If a director diverges too far from the producer's expectations, or gets to uppity, then of course the producers will step in and make a change. If I were manufacturing widgets in China, and the floor manager started to get ideas about ways to improve the products that I wasn't in line with, I would follow the same protocol.

What's crazy is that a little over a month ago DiFabio and I were conspiring via PM to stage a fake blow up between him and I about RO which would lead to him being temporarily banned. Some of you make such a big deal about my RO fanboyism that I thought it'd be hilarious to watch people's reactions to me flat out banning someone just for daring to criticize it. DiFabio was totally "do it, do it!" But the minimum ban is two weeks which I thought was too much for a joke and he had so many infractions I didn't want to do something that would mess him up permanently. Plus I figured that Dave wouldn't take kindly to his mods arbitrarily banning members for the lolz.

The crazy irony is that if we'd done the two week joke ban then that would have assumedly saved him from making the post that really did put him over the line.

Interesting indeed. Howard was on the short list to direct one of the prequels before George decided to just do it all himself IIRC. Now we'll get to see what a Howard SW movie looks like after all.

With such a top tier name I've got to imagine that they're just going to scrap the old footage and start over from scratch. I fully expect a "Han Solo delayed until Christmas 2018" announcement any minute now.

Literally had no interest to see this movie when announced with the 2 directors. Sounded terrible with a good cast mixed in. Disney made the right call and move with Howard i'm on board now.
