Re: Hot Toys - MMS - Captain America: Civil War - Spider-Man Collectible Figure

Naw there is, it's just a different line-up again with Tony as the leader.
That's untrue,

The only "Avengers" still under his wing are himself, Rhodey and the Vision; but Stark wants to really hang up the suit, Rhodey is down for the count and Vision isn't a one man team. SW, Falcon, Hawkeye, BW, and AM are all most likely fugitives now.

those 3, and Peter technically Black Panther too since Tony doesn't know he took Steve and Bucky, are still an Avengers team. Tony doesn't want to hang up the suit, he said that is why Pepper left, and Rhodey can still put on an Exo-suit and continue to be War Machine.

Steve, in the letter to Stark, was talking to Tony in a way where the Avengers still had a main team, the Avengers is more of a family to Tony than to Steve. If they didn't want to be a team anymore, Stark would've just left the New Avengers facility.

And The Avengers are now a UN govern team, the UN would just fill in the open spots.

There's basically 2 teams now like in the comics, Stark's New Avengers and Roger's Secret Avengers.

I wonder how they'll explain away avengers not being in every Spider-Man story.

Well, kinda like what they did with Phase 2, everybody is busy doing something else.

Lol, exactly! Watch Honest Trailers... ”Since all the other Avengers were too busy".

I don't think he's making Peter an Avenger.

He wanted him to stay back in the actual fight because he was worried he'd get hurt, and then once he did he immediately sent him home. Black Panther was never an Avenger. He had an alliance with them to catch Bucky, and nothing more. Remember, he was one of the people whose countries signed the Accords in the first place. Unless something specifically involves Wakanda, he's not gonna be marching to the beat of Tony's drum.

And given that Cap's team are all fugitives I doubt they're showing up in Spider-Man's movie either.

Exactly, there are no "established" Avengers. When Infinity War starts to role in I think we'll see the two teams begin to form.

Which is the intention I believe. The coming movies are intended to be the formation of the true blue New Avengers for Phase 4. Essentially their Phase 1.

I don't see how he can't start training Peter to become an Avenger.
And it goes back to the Accords.

The Avengers are now a team under the UN and it's not up to Tony who joins the team or not.

Wakanda signing it is different, the country as a whole believes in the Accords.

Well even tho T'Challa didn't sign the Accords as the Black Panther, he can't operate outside of Wakanda, if he does he'll be arrested per the Accords.

But you're right, Panther is technically not an Avenger.

Still, the New Avengers are still technically a team and the movie doesn't tell us that the team is officially disassembled.

Lol. But there's only so many times they can do that IMO.

Unless there's a cataclysmic situation that happens in Infinity Wats part 1 that genuinely explains the lack of superheros

Re: Hot Toys - MMS - Captain America: Civil War - Spider-Man Collectible Figure

There aren't that many that could appear in Homecoming. Stark is confirmed, and Chris Evans said he wants Cap to have a cameo. Thor and Banner will be occupied during that time, so apart from Vision or Rhodey making an appearance that's about it.

I just hope that we'll get venom and carnage in the future.

I WANT CAP to show up in spidey 2. I'm from NY, and the crowd marked out when the words QUEENS showed up in CW. As well as the little exchange spidey and cap had at the airport.

NY represent yo!!!

Edit-oh yeah...and throw in daredevil!! Holy crap!

Re: Hot Toys - MMS - Captain America: Civil War - Spider-Man Collectible Figure

Daredevil making a appearance in a Spider-Man film is a must. heck, I would be happy with Spidey swinging through Hell's Kitchen at night and then passing Daredevil beating up some fools.

I've given up on the TV heroes showing up in the movies. Marvel doesn't seem to want it to happen.

As Civil War approached I was really disappointed that Daredevil would not be in the movie, it seemed like a no brainier to me that he should be. But now after seeing the movie there wasn't much of a place for him in the story. He couldn't have been believable as anyone's "secret weapon" because as a more "street level" hero he simply isn't powerful enough in that kind of role. Not that he can't hold his own with the highly trained "powerless" heroes like Hawkeye and Black Widow, but they simply didn't need Daredevil for the story. I am hoping as Netflix moves toward the Defenders, that some of these characters will make at least a brief appearance in "Infinity Wars".

But, actually I would love to have Daredevil cross paths with Black Widow. These characters were briefly paired together in the 70's. Id love for BW to show up on the Netflix show, but I think SJ is too big a star for that. However, Daredevil might be great for appearing on a solo Black Widow movie.

Re: Hot Toys - MMS - Captain America: Civil War - Spider-Man Collectible Figure

An appearance by Daredevil is the only thing that'd make a solo Black Widow movie worth watching. She's nice to look at but I don't like the character much.

I think if they do a "spy" movie with her it could be really good. Daredevil could add to it though and give it a bit of a film noir feel too.

I don't know if this has been addressed in the MCU, but if I'm remembering right, in at least one comic continuity, BW isn't exactly 'powerless' -- she has delayed aging, enhanced strength and healing ... not Cap level but more-than-human...?

A Black Widow solo film treated like Bourne Identity would rock.

I'm pretty sure that hasn't been addressed in the MCU, though it would explain a scene in the first Avengers movie that always made me cringe a bit as she made her way up to a rooftop of a tall building (with a boost from Cap) jumping from alien air ships in a bit too superpowered kinda way from what was understood as her abilities in the MCU. While the "powers" in the comic would explain this, I do personally like it more that she, like Hawkeye, rely mostly on training and honed skill of otherwise "normal" human beings.

Yes it would!

Re: Hot Toys - MMS - Captain America: Civil War - Spider-Man Collectible Figure

I'd like to see a Black Widow movie. I don't believe Disney's reasons for no Black Widow movies and toys is because men won't buy it. I think the real reason is Disney thinks women and fangirls would get so jealous of Scarlett Johansson.

I'd love to see Scarlett Johansson on a cereal box but I bet the reason we don't is Disney is scared average women will complain.
