What why are you cancelling feedback? Anytime I've cancelled with SSC, you just check off the order number to cancel it and push a button and it's done.

Nope. They added a Feedback system this weekend, which can only be a GOOD thing. I canceled the Rebel Fleet Trooper and clicked the "Not happy with the final production Quality" option.

Interesting, well I'll probably be cancelling some things soon sadly so I'll have a chance to see how it works.

There is also an open Comments field, so you can leave detailed feedback when canceling stuff now. You don't have to settle for one of the options.

Again, I think this will be a GOOD thing. I'm sure Sideshow has been hit with a slew of cancellations lately (economy, quality issues, etc) and it will be a positive thing for them to be able to get some detailed data.

Very true, espcially since right now, my cancellations will all fall under the funds category, might get them to spread shipments out more if a lot of feedback is along those lines. I may comment funds in the custom comment section and add that it's funds at one time, not just lack of money period. 3 things over 3 months is very easy, 3 things in 1 week can be tough.

The thing I canceled I said there was too much coming out at once and I couldn't afford it then.

Till idiots start just responding with "it sucks" like they do here.

I agree that this can be a very constructive and positive thing for Sideshow. Let us just hope that 1) people don't abuse and spam the system and 2) Sideshow doesn't view those few wingnuts as representative of their whole customer base.

Personally, I think it's a mistake to put this character on a Buck, but where exactly has it been confirmed to be on the BucK?

It hasn't been confirmed. It's just an assumption based on the $69.99 price.

If it's on the Pro for that price, it's a no-brainer.

Ya this is a great idea, I think if SS wants to keep this line being a success, they need to make some vital changes.

Even with the various reasons, I think most peeps are canceling as it a blahzay offering.
In 2009 SS needs to kick start the line again.

Thanks for the clarification. Based on the amount of bashing, it really seemed like the Buck was a definite. Personally, I think it's going to end up being the Pro with a HT-style neck adapter, but I wouldn't rule anything out at this early point in the game.

It would be sad if the newest Dead fig (the Priest) is on a PRO while the latest SW fig is on the Buck. :monkey2

As an Obi-wan fan, I'm getting this no matter what. I don't care if he's on the Buck. The Buck may not be the best, but I still remember the old bodies that were used for 1/6 figures not so long ago.

One word: poseability. Why the hell would they give us a brand new body, considerably more poseable than the buck, and then cut the articulation for "asthetic" reasons? That doesn't make any sense. And it doesn't really look that bad at all anyway. If you're looking for something aesthetically perfect, pick up a PF. These are "action" figures after all.

A sculpted neck does not 'cut the articulation' as you say. Most of the articulated joints already exist on the Buck. The head-neck joint is just one of many modifications found on the Prometheus. The major improvements of the Prometheus are found in an increased ROM and smoothness of the joints (neck-torso, mid-torso, and elbow joints especially), along with better limb proportions, and hand/foot connections.

A number of members on this board have expressed their preference for a sculpted neck because of details like the Adam's apple and beard stubble. Even today, in the Indy thread, people are getting excited at the proposition of Darren adding a sculpted neck to Indy. Well before the Prometheus was announced, I advocated the best of both worlds: a sculpted neck piece separate from the head.

Hot Toys has made the True Type body for a couple of years now. Why would they still be making heads like the Joker with necks that fit onto an adapter? It is possible that the artist prefers the look of a sculpted neck versus the generic one.

I think at this point, the use of sculpted necks is based on character. Joker was give a sculpted neck I think because it allowed them to run the face paint off and look more like the film and Hot Toys body allows enough movement that even a sculpted neck has good range. The Buck has poor range because of the design of the body around the neck, there isn't much of an opening so forward tilt is cutoff dramatically.

I'd say the best route is to use 2 jointed necks for characters like Indy where it makes a big difference to have that extra bit of articuation, and ones like Obi-Wan, maybe leave it as sculpted to let the beard run naturally onto the neck.

The preceding program has been payed for and brought to you by:

Losing a joint in the neck does actually lose a point of articulation and actually look less natural when trying to pose them looking up or down.
