Let's hope Beachhead doesn't get fumbled away in production. If the factory doesn't use the intrinsic paint process on that one, it could very well turn out even worse than this Flint monstrosity. :horror

I can only imagine.

And Duke can't look like that. I forgot that was why Beachhead looked so realistic. Which means Flint can't either. A good painter could get it close, I guess. It can be a $160-175 figure if it tries, right?

They don't necessarily have to look like $170 figures... we just can't tolerate these $125 figures with paint jobs barely better than $20-$40 figures. This is ridiculous.

Well at least there is no doll dot . . . .

Since Small Studios and SilentSurfer have been doing work on the upcoming Joes, guess we'll see what SS is going to do. I'd love to see skin tone and paint like the Barny Ross, but we will have 2 Joes at least that would not match.

I'd rather have 2 duds that don't match than a whole slew of $125+ figures with crappy paint apps.

Regardless, Sideshow should be ashamed of how this Flint turned out and that they're actually letting it ship that way. For $125? Could they at least buy us a drink and lube up first?

I just recently got a True Type 16 for my Steel Brigade figure that sports the Dominic Purcell head sculpt, though he may be a bit too unshaven, I think he'll make a good substitute for Flint. A better choice then the Expendables Stallone head sculpt imo. I know I'll be using it when I eventually buy Flint.

This with Barney Ross's cap will probably look better than the current Flint's HS. I usually do not care that much about bad sculpts and etc but something is wrong when my Duke HS looks 100x better. You can only do so much with a "hmmmm..." expression.

I meant that to get a customizer to give this a Hot Toys level paintjob, in the end you would have a $170 figure. It would cost atleast that much.

That TT head doesn't have a Flint vibe to it though. I can see him being Steeler or Rock n Roll with a beard added.

Even without the intrinsic paint, these could look a lot closer to what they're not close to at all right now. They wouldn't have to change the material; they just need to change the total lack of detail. Cobra Commander, Cobra Trooper and Firefly have 100x more in their eyes than Flint has in his whole face.

Generic TT heads come painted 10x better than $125 license Sideshow heads.

Maybe since Sideshow got the license from Hasbro they are also forced to use their paint factory as part of the deal. :duh

I felt the exact same way about the original Flint Prototype. Even with the better paint, it wasn't Flint to me.
But the more I look at it, the more the True Type could pass as Flint. I can't find a better HT sculpt to match.

I don't even care if the Joes don't match Barney Ross, but they need to at LEAST look as good as their prototypes (which in and of themselves are lightyears behind Barney but are at least acceptable for a $125 figure.) I'm over this $49.99 Bespin Han crap.

I'm passing on the HT T800 in anticipation of the upcoming blue monkeys, you think I'd even consider not getting the Terminator and then still blow 125 on this Flint? Not a chance.

I realize that SSC has hinted that Beach Head will mark the beginning of a new era in production paint, we'll see.
