i really do hope Rambo dies in pt.5 but i also hope its not a cheap death, maybe something worthy of a war hero like Rambo......Stallone needs get really creative if he's gonna have Rambo killed. i think his death would be the perfect ending for the series and i dont mean that in a bad way.

I agree a death would be perfect for the series but at the same time who wants to kill off Rambo?:(

5 will continue where 4 left off,Rambo back in Arizona and visiting his father...Sly said this movie will not be as violent as part 4,Sly wanted to work more on the "PERSON" John Rambo and not the War Machine.

Somehow i hope Trautman will be involved, since Rambo is back in the states he go visit Trautman´s grave or something, because he was the closest to a family he had,it will be a really good opening scene.

I can picture the opening scene now where Rambo stand in front of Trautman´s grave, with a few flashbacks, when he turn around and walk away the First Blood theme song starts while we see Rambo go back to his father`s house(from part 4) or whatever he is doing.

Either way,i hope we will see a scene where he visit Trautman´s grave,it won´t hurt the movie ONE BIT!And in my opinion it is very important for the series,it is just wrong that Trautman will be forgotten without knowing what happened to him.

I think the best path for Rambo would be to fill the Trautman roll. Find a positive way to channel the warrior within, share his skills with the next generation. It would certainly add mental conflict as I'm sure many army trainees would have a cocky or arrogant attitude of not understanding what it's like to be in combat, and Rambo of course knowing all too well, wouldn't take any ^^^^ but would have to fight that rage surfacing.

That's the only thing that worries me about a Rambo 5, if the idea is to explore his character, I just can't imagine what sort of story would be fitting in the Rambo series where you think ok, this feels right for him, and is entertaining enough to not make you wish they'd ended it at 4. I almost fear Rambo 5 going the same way as Rocky 5, and then you'd essentially need a Rambo 6 to put him back on the battlefront to redeem the series again.

So you are saying you want a "Rocky 5" ?:(

I don´t think Sly want to go that way again,i just want Trautman to be a part of Rambo 5,we don´t know what happened to him and it kinda leaves a hole in the the Rambo Series that we will never know in my opinion.

I don't think that story idea would be Rocky V all over again, hell, Rocky V's base concept could have worked, it was the way they told it that sucked, all the "home team" and the overplayed brain damage and all. The idea of Rocky becoming a teacher like Mickey could have worked, he just did a bad job of executing it.

Yeah true,as long as we get to know what happened to Trautman which is still unknown id be happy,i feel like this is something that needs to be answered.

Well then I would assume a scene of Rambo visiting a grave yard then. I have a good feeling this film will be about John conditioning himself back into society. It should be really emotional.

We need more than a grave visit though, we almost need someone to approach Rambo and ask him what happened. Since Crenna's gone, you can't create flashbacks so we need a verbal story of how they go from riding off together in Rambo 3 to Rambo back in the Nam area all jaded.
