Actually I put it down to Bruce finally seeing an opportunity for redemption after two decades of futile crimefighting. Saving Clark?s Martha would atone for not saving his own Martha, and he?d finally be free: ?Martha won?t die tonight.?

In a way she was a surrogate Martha!

Could it be he conditioned himself to call her Martha to others to protect his identity and her life?

Okay I?ll stop now :D
We are both correct, thats the 2nd stage of of bruces catharsis. He has a chance to finally save martha, and boy was that scene badass best on screen live action bats ever

That’s something everyone here agrees on. Just a shame the Martha Moment was lost on so many - even Snyder didn’t properly explain it when he had the chance recently.

(Wait, maybe only the screenwriters understood it?)

Funny, I think you're both wrong! :lol But I'm actually glad that it worked for someone. :duff

I didn't catch his recent explanation, but I recall his not doing a very good job justifying it in the past either. But yes, it did lead to Bats's most kick ass moment on screen, so there's that. Of course if it was half as good it still would have far surpassed TDKR's tame action, what with Bane's polite thugs patiently waited their turn to receive love taps from Bruce. :lol

Thank you :D The fact it didn?t work for so many makes it a failure of execution, not necessarily intent.

All those extras on set were to scared to step on bales bat toes in fear of pissing him off and going ballistic. God only knows what would have happened if they accidentally hit him on set. Nolan was like guys you know how christian is just stand there so he can pull off his routine, whatever you do dont **** up, he doesn't like a lot of takes. I doubt you will ever see him make an action movie again, theyd have to use a stunt double for everything lol. If dc brings him back for this multiverse they better be prepared to just use his voice as batman and have a stunt double look alike in the suit the whole time (well for all the fight/action scenes at least).

I'd forgot how highly TROS was rated by audiences (though it suspiciously never budged from that figure!) The 14% of haters (me included) must all be on this forum. :lol

No Hamill/Ford/Fisher/BDW = PT easy to disregard

Has Hamill/Ford/Fisher/BDW = ST impossible to disregard

So easy

If not for Ian McDiarmid the PT truly would be disposable

Take that Doom v a g i n a

No, no different. Only different in your mind. You must unlearn what you have learned.

:lol :lol

I wish I could say the same for the Terminator franchise and Die Hard, Robocop, Predator, Lethal Weapon, Conan, Mad Max, Alien and Indy lol

As do I. I like 2 the best but I don't think any of them embarrass the series.

The first is my fav with the 2nd being very close. If 3 had a better villain I think that one would be much better. I enjoy 4 more then 3. It has the villain that it?s predecessor is missing. I think it?s a great end to the series.

Like u said none of them embarrass the series.

Thunderdome is horrible!

Granted, it had too many kids and not enough cars. But on the plus side... Tina Turner! Angry Anderson!!

When was the last time you gave it a try? As with ST:TMP, I've developed a whole new appreciation for it in my old age.

(It did, however, start the sad trend of dispensing with the Interceptor...)
