Kids these days, lol.

Yes it is a literal fact that she was originally Rey Solana and that Kylo was going to tell her her last name right before he died in Trevorrow's script. But by all means continue to get your information from "Doomcock and the Fandom Menace" on YouTube and Twitter. :lol

Obviously ignorance (or should I say derangement) really is bliss.

The only derangement is you thinking ST had a plan. Lol talk about absolutely bat**** insane. Nothing about those movies symbolize a plan. Just catering to OT fanboys like jye who will eat up anything with OT aspects in it. Wow he literally says ST had a plan after TLJ ? Lmao

Bingo!

And this is why I am forever team Khev.

Besides team khev sounds a whole lot cooler than team ducky-wez lol

JAWS has made some amazing posts the dude is on fire and also truly bored at work BUT thank you for taking that one last Kool-aid away from him.

I love that the STDS folks cling to their little Doomcockian narratives no matter what reality exists in front of their own eyes. "No plan." Right they only had Rey's freaking name spelled out on paper just a few months after TFA left theaters, lol. :duh

You obviously do not read much of anything that has been written about the development of the ST.
Google will help you out.
It is a fact that there was no plan and Abrams scrambled around to figure out what to do after Johnson pulled the rug out from under him and killed off Snoke.
The Emperor returning was a desperate Hail Mary move.
There are even current interviews with the editors of TFA and TROS expressing their disappointment with Johnson for undoing so much of TFA and undermining Abrams work.
Do you really think the plan was to say Rey was nobody and then switch that to her being a Palpatine?
There was no plan. If everyone at Lucasfilm can admit this you should be able to as well.

What Khev said is right, the one that changed the plans for the sequel trilogy was TROS, the blame could be jj abrams or the executive producers that feared the backlash from TLj.
Rey was a nobody, the force choose her just like Anakin was choosen(He may be a creation of Darth Plagueis and grow under the umbrella of Palpatine but he was a nobody, a nameless slave), that why the broom boy and the Canto Bight scene is important is a message that disney wanted to pass to the public, that anyone can be destined to greatness.
The Colin Trevorrow's script dated November or December 2016, continues this and put the regular people to fight the facist First Order. Its like Luke ending the sith by saving his father and not killing Vader\Palpatine, he got rid of the EVIL but not the evil schemes of politics that gave the first order the advantage pre-TFA to destroy the new republic OR The political schemes that Palpatine used to create the empire.

This guy knows what's what. :duff

It does appear that JJ didn't have a clear picture of how Episodes VIII and IX would go when he made TFA (but that's JJ for you) however RJ and and Trevorrow quickly devised a trajectory immediately after TFA that would have encompassed the entire trilogy. Which again means that the ST had more forethought than both the OT and PT.

I had never even heard of those YouTube things that you just mentioned until people on this thread mentioned them and I still do not know what the heck a Doomcock or fandom menace is nor do I care to find out.
It is simply a well documented fact that there was no overarching plan with any of the films.
There was no writer?s room the writers wrote in silos.
Johnson has to go to Abrams and request at the 11th hour that R2 be with Rey at the end of TFA because that was what he needed for his script. Abrams did not know why...just simply agreed to help him out. BB-8 was removed and R2 was added. Trevorrow requested that Johnson add a scene where Rey meets Poe at the end of TLJ because that was what was needed for his script.
It is also a fact that Palpatine was not in Trevorrows script and had never been discussed with him as an element to be included in the trilogy.
Not sure how any of these facts equates to the ST having been planned in advance but I guess blissful ignorance allows you to sleep better at night as you try with desperation to convince yourself that this train wreck of a trilogy has any value.

It is also a fact that Trevorrow and Johnson did NOT collaborate on their scripts. You are just making stuff up at this point.
Maybe you are that Youtuber like others have suggested after all.

The plan to the ST isn't that what they were all searching for in TFA? I thought half of it was in R2 all along only he was taking a big nap and they forgot to tell RJ who found a new plan in BB8 and then JJ found a new new plan in D-O(?) SO I guess if you use some really good mental gymnastics you could say that the plan was in place all along. It's just like JJ said when he saw Rian sink his plotlines in TLJ, 'alright, I'm sure another solution will present itself' ... and then brought back Palpatine hurray for one unifying clearly thought out plan.

It is also a fact that Trevorrow and Johnson did NOT collaborate on their scripts.

Right. After you just admitted that Trevorrow asked RJ to have Rey and Poe meet in TLJ, lol. Perfect way to prove that there was no collaboration. :lol I suppose that Trevorrow expanding on Rose's arc was also because he had no idea what RJ was doing with a character that no one had ever even heard of before? :pow

And JAWS is right....

Lucas has been giving us the middle finger ever since 83 way before the SE!

Are you ready for this the best stupid dumb **** irony of all.

They want Lucas to fix what KK did and HE WAS THE ONE WHO PUT HER THERE IN THE FIRT PLACE LOL

Middle finger from Lucas has been up going on 37 years now!

No one brought up Rose so stop pointing to shiny objects...I think you may be being deliberately obtuse just to perpetuate your argument...but anyway I will bite.
The point of every article about the request that Trevorrow made was to highlight the lack of collaboration.
Sending one request via e-mail and having the request granted is cooperation not collaboration...two different things. I am not going to help you with that you really are going to need to use Google for that one.
If there had been collaboration these requests would not have had to be made because they would have already been baked into the shared story that they were all collaborating on right?

I wouldn't use Trevorrow's script as evidence that there was an overall plan if I were you. KK fired him on the basis that she did not like the direction that he planned to take the final instalment, I believe they agreed to call it creative differences. That's not something that should be happening if you have one plan right from the beginning that has already been meticulous over seen and approved at corporate level (i.e. KK and later Iger). If anything this just points to more evidence of the 'director-led' approach to the movies made in isolation of each other. It doesn't really make sense for RJ to squish every single one of JJ's mystery boxes (and by squish I mean batha poodu in the box) so that none are left in play for the final movie, by all means close out one or two of them in the middle chapter but all of them .... where do you go from there?

Yep...it?s crazy that this is even being debated.
Some people like the ST some people don?t but everyone agrees that there was no plan.
Everyone agrees because it is a well documented fact.
I did not know that people were not aware of that.

No one brought up Rose

I just did but I'm not surprised at all that you want to run away from that as fast as possible since Trevorrow was very familiar with her very early into the production of TLJ. So much for "writing in silos."

Wow, you really do have no idea how often a script can evolve and change right up until a film's release do you? "Baked into the shared story?" There's literally no such thing. :duh Listen, I know it's "current year" so I get how trendy it is to state a narrative as fact no matter how big a pile of bull**** it is. So if you're one of those types who just can't let go of their preferred narratives then I'm going to let you do just that.

But the fact remains that the ST was planned more than the both the OT and PT. There's just no disputing that without an absolute detachment from reality.

She was fine with his original screenplay. But when Carrie died his chapter required a massive overall and Trevorrow reportedly requested to KK that RJ be forced to let Luke live (so that he could fulfill Leia's role in Duel of the Fates) but she sided with RJ. So yes there was a plan. But Carrie's death and the backlash to TLJ changed the plan. But changing a plan due to evolving circumstances does not equal "not having a plan."

I think that with Carrie dying didn't change the script too much, they could put her in the movie like they did in Rogue One. The thing that really made him gets fired was the "fan" backlash of the TLJ.

George filmed his AOTC and ROTS Tatooine scenes back to back so he would not have to go back on location (gotta save those republic credits) so I feel like he had a fairly good idea of where the story was going. That and he literally had to end the PT in such a position that it married up with the OT as much as possible so creatively he knew where his pieces needed to end up (if not exactly how they would get there allowing for some organic growth in the scripts themselves). I think the issue is that as a viewer you aren't left with the same feeling of creative cohesiveness from the ST, I don't feel confident that they ever knew exactly where it was all going and how it was going to end (which is supported by the left field return of Palpatine).

The OT wasnt planned that is a fact, but the PT and ST was planned. PT in the 90's and the ST when disney bought Lucasfilm

Of course George knew certain things about ROTS in advance like Anakin and Obi-Wan dueling and the film seguing into the OT at the end. But he sure as heck didn't have a full script for ROTS written a year before AOTC came out!

The scripts wasn't ready, but the history was planned, of course he made a few changes during the way.
You guys have to remember that in the PT era there was a transmedia project of comics, games and movies this demand planning ahead.
