Re: Star Wars: Episode IX - May 24, 2019

I almost choked on my breakfast when I saw the news :monkey4

Re: Star Wars: Episode IX - May 24, 2019

:lol

So, Khev, what did you do this evening? :rotfl

If you watched a PT and then cried at the sink, you're screwed to be able to tell anyone anything.

I am a fan of ....periods.....

Does it disrupt your mind while reading?

BTW why do you write spaced out like you're writing a Haiku or something?

Yeah crows why do you randomly hit Enter and then
Capitalize the next line even though it's the same sentence?

:lol

Yep at that point all you can do is either straight up lie or run, lol.

Star Wars: Episode IX - May 24, 2019

Well I guess you can edit the release date on this thread

I think they were. They totally crapped on the idea of the Geonosians engineering the Death Star and refused to call Mustafar and Coruscant by name. :)

Don't forget Jimmy Smits.. If they were true Deniers they would have left him out.. Hey and the Blu Ray chapter says Mustafar :)

They give the PT some love IMO

Oh come on let's not get carried away. ;) But otherwise yeah based on your previous reviews of TFA I can understand how this new announcement would be terrible news for you, lol. No matter what we'll always have RO/OT though. :D

Yes we will always have those films.

Yep, I'll repeat my oft-repeated phrase:

TFA/RO = better made
PT = more original

But I'd still put ROTS above the new movies.

PT is more more original but RO was more of a Star Wars films then any of the PT or TFA

Re: Star Wars: Episode IX - May 24, 2019

Never really got into JJ's television efforts, but Star Wars and Star Trek are my top 2 fave franchises, and I like what he's done with both, so I guess that makes me a (belated) fan.

Re: Star Wars: Episode IX - May 24, 2019

Sure I can admit that uncle george created some new material for the PT but what good is originality if it stinks!

I have said this before and I believe it 100%. TFA needed more Lucas and the PT needed a lot more of Lawrence Kasdan.

Yes there was a lot of Bad in the PT but it felt like a Galaxy far far away.. Not so with TFA

Hell in just TPM I will take the Pod Race/ Maul Duel/ Naboo star fight over just about everything in TFA.

I will take the acting and dialogue of TFA over all of the PT... But that is about it. TFA is a better film then the PT but I would rather watch any of the films in PT almost every time... OK Not Attack of the Clones.. :)

Oh and
Obi Wan >>> Rey
Maul >>>>>>>> Kylo

I really don;t like the PT... That is how much I really don;t care for JJ's first attempt at the SW universe.

But I am not going to complain about TFA anymore...

The New films could save it if the story helps improve some of the major issues I had with TFA and it;s characters... If they can just make it feel like a real Star Wars movie and not some fan made film I will be much happier.

Re: Star Wars: Episode IX - May 24, 2019

The release date bump to December doesn't surprise me in the least. Once TFA did so well in December, I figured they'd keep that for ALL of the upcoming Star Wars films. I'm only surprised the Han Solo film hasn't been pushed to December yet, especially with its Director issues and reshoots. I have a hard time believing we'll get 2 Star wars films in 6 months rather than a year apart.

Re: Star Wars: Episode IX - May 24, 2019

Is Ep IX really going to be the final chapter if Abrams is directing it. I think it won't be

They were going to, then Ep IX got bumped back to May, now it's back to December again.

Since RO takes place in ANH time they would've had to try really hard not to make it feel like SW.

Maul fight was awesome but also wrapped inside the wretchedness of that Gungan battle.

Re: Star Wars: Episode IX - December 20, 2019

Now we'll get to see Abrams' TFA 2 just one year before Cameron's Avatar 2. I wonder which one will prevail at the box office.

I'm really surprised that Johnson turned down Episode IX before TLJ hits theaters. If it blows away TFA then the fan demand for him to return will be deafening and he could have asked for a blank check from the studio to return a la Nolan after TDK.

Re: Star Wars: Episode IX - December 20, 2019

Yeah great point they should've waited until after TLJ to decide.

Because if TLJ does blow away TFA, which I think it will, then Kennedy will now have to deal with the replace JJ with Rian outcry.

Yeah imagine if Feige announced that Joe Johnston would be directing Civil War two months before TWS came out. That would have been really dumb, lol.

Actually we kind of did get that with Whedon-Russos-Whedon for Avengers/TWS/AoU and everyone noticed the downgrade after TWS.
