Re: Star Wars: Episode IX - May 24, 2019

Yep, I'll repeat my oft-repeated phrase:

TFA/RO = better made
PT = more original

But I'd still put ROTS above the new movies.

For me I'd put both TPM and ROTS way above TFA. But I think Rogue One is a near masterpiece. That was a movie that was able to pull on all the nostalgic heartstrings, while still feeling completely fresh while doing so. Plus on Soviet Scarif you don't blow up Death Star, Death Star blows up you.

Re: Star Wars: Episode IX - May 24, 2019

I really find it hard to watch TFA. Maybe because its on every five minutes for the last year. Maybe a few years away would warm my ice cold heart of Russian steel.

That you, Vladimir? :wave

The rumor is Disney is not happy with The Last Jedi, and begged JJ to come back since TFA made so much money. The whole thing has been a mess.

There's no set story or ending. It's constantly changing. JJ says he can't write the script until he see's TLJ to see what he can do.

Strange way of making a Trilogy.

Re: Star Wars: Episode IX - May 24, 2019

Hm looks like this will be the clone wars of the trilogy then. I didn't have huge expectations anyway and also I guess we know why they won't release a trailer for TLJ. I hope they didn't do something insanly stupid to that movie.

Re: Star Wars: Episode IX - May 24, 2019

I found [Gilroy's] RO to be quite mediocre. Still don't understand why people liked it and it's forgettable characters.

Re: Star Wars: Episode IX - May 24, 2019

This story seems to fit what's happening in the real world.

Rumor is Episode 9 title is "Make The Empire Great Again" and the poster will have snowflakes falling over the Title letters. A pic of the Villain for that movie has been leaked. Can't Wait for the HT release.

According to a rumour recently cited by Jye, they couldn't be happier with Johnson's work and it's a surprise he's not coming back for the next one. Unless he needs a break.

You might recall Abrams had to be persuaded to do TFA cos he was way overdue for a break.

Abrams' involvement may mean we'll get to see Simon Pegg in another supporting role, mouthing off about the PT between takes.

Re: Star Wars: Episode IX - May 24, 2019

No doubt wacky drama behind the scenes.

This might seem far fetched but is Kennedy even calling the shots anymore?

Maybe Howard will surprise us with HS...

Oh man is this how far we've fallen in just a few short hours? :lol

I was kind of happy with the upgrade from Trevorrow but after reading the last few posts I'm about ready to grab a pistol and pull a "Batfleck" in the front seat of my car, lol. I think the worst thing that could happen with this new trilogy is for it to turn out be lukewarm. Not awesome, not spectacularly bad but just...there. Man I hope not especially after TLJ seems poised to go so gloriously off the rails with Porgs, Rose, and SNOKT, lol. Hopefully Episode IX packs some surprises and inspired new designs especially since Abrams will at the minimum be without Ford and Fisher to pad the feels this next time around.

Or she is. I just saw an opportunity for a reference.

:lol

"I'm Rian Johnson, this is replacement director Johnson. No relation..."
