Re: Star Wars: Episode IX - December 20, 2019

I'm just glad that all the outdoor environments in TFA truly felt like alien worlds, particularly in the latter half of the film...

Since RO takes place in ANH time they would've had to try really hard not to make it feel like SW.

I am pretty sure had JJ Abrams directed RO, he would have found a way to make it not feel like a SW film.

Re: Star Wars: Episode IX - December 20, 2019

You sir are far off.

SW hate is nothing new.

ROTJ Ewoks were hated in 83.

OT SE changes were hated in 97

PT have been hated since 99

JAWS, Wor-Gar and that blonde Youtube chick have been hating TFA since 2015

kara has been hating RO since 2016

Harrison Ford and Alec Guinness hated Star Wars while they were making it. So technically it dates as far back as 1976 :lol

Re: Star Wars: Episode IX - December 20, 2019

James Earl Jones hated it to the point he asked NOT to be credited.

Everyone but Ford changed their tune.

Now it's pretty common to meet sheeple who will actually like a movie but say they don't to appease some greater mass on the web that deems it not cool.

You just perfectly captured 99.9% of current internet opinions.

BvS is the champion film of the aforementioned, where its cool to go online and post about how much you hated it - even though you paid to see the film in theaters five times and loved it every time.

Didn't you see RO six times? :monkey3

Nah, I don't think that applies to BVS. I loathe that movie, saw it once on Redbox, never will again. I think it's just a irredeemably bad movie.

Suicide Squad is almost as bad.

I watched Gilroy's RO twice. CG Cushing drove me even more nuts the second time since I watched it digital.

Re: Star Wars: Episode IX - December 20, 2019

The 8 Harry Potter films were good....

These new SW films are going to suck cause you got 500pl writing and constantly changing the story.
That is just crazy. The Harry Potter movies are really bad.

Universal Studios hated SW before it was made, lol.

See now you guys are just getting too technical lol

Now I know where I've been going wrong, I've been admitting I loved it.

Yep, if you were cool you would have said you Red-Boxed it and made fun of it on forums online as you "watched" it at home.

Re: Star Wars: Episode IX - December 20, 2019

"Jaws was never my thing and I don't like Star Wars."

Yep. :D

"I don't believe in Peter Pan, Frankenstein or Superman..."

See he was even pre-hating MOS, the new Universal Monster Connected Universe, and the upcoming live-action Peter Pan, lol.

If nothing else, your posts are entertaining, albeit delusional. Just like the fantasy "connections" you always post about.

You're welcome to enjoy BVS, for whatever reason, but don't try and convince yourself that it was a good movie. I can even understand liking it, despite how bad it is, because of its kitsch or even on a campy level. I'm sure we all like some bad movies, but we don't pretend they are art.

But if the fallacy somehow adds meaning to your existence, far be it from me to deprive you of the fantasy.

Re: Star Wars: Episode IX - December 20, 2019

I Red-Boxed BvS.

If I was part of the current moronic internet approach to ranking films and had subscribed to the general consensus that its 22% on RT score was on point, I probably never would have seen the movie. At all.

The fact that you proudly state how you Red-Boxed "the awful BvS" tells me that you indeed drank the bandwagon Kool-Aid and embraced the mass consensus on it to the point of not even seeing it [and it's grandiose 70mm sequences] at a theater screen. In other words ---> no matter what brilliance in storytelling or characterization could have surprised you during your Red Box BvS experience, you were gonna hate the movie. You had programmed yourself to hate the movie.

BvS is not a 10/10 but it's not the 0/10 the internet wants it to be. Unfortunately people like to agree with each other online and we have a community that gives WW & CW a 10/10 and would happily grant them Academy Award Nominations for Best Picture.
