While this is true. ROTS was a step above of everything. Music and atmosphere and tone. Just all around better than the previous two

Music in TPM was better then ROTS :)

I also thought TPM had better action then ROTS. Palps was better in TPM also and Maul was better then Anakin.

But then again it?s no secret that I like TPM more then ROTS lol

Many of Lucas' creative choices are considered mistakes when they're actually quite deliberate. For instance, the clunky dialog is straight out of the old SF serials. Obviously it still could have been delivered better.

There is lots of goofy dialogue in the OT also.. But Ford, Mark and Carrie sold it. Especially Ford.

In all fairness I bought a crap ton of the ROTS figures when if first came out and they are all worthless. What do you mean by sells? The hot toys and higher end collectibles? Then yes people like the characters more then the movies- its a very strange phenomenon- but they do sell. BUT all those 3 3/4 sith figures are absolutely worthless nothing like the OT ones, I have bins and bins of them I cant even give away. Most are worth less then retail price even the retail exclusives like Lava Vader and Lava Obi Wan lol. So I wouldn't say RotS merc has much value outside of the big ticket items. There isn't **** for demand for the smaller Sith vintage movie figures at all. The ot well we all know about that, sure some of it is due to age but im telling you those sith figures just go down in value over time while the OT figures go up

I think the PT toys dont have resell value because they made so many and everyone went out to buy them (sometimes 2 of each figure) and kept them in boxes thinking that they would increase in value like the OT figures did.. But the thing is.. Its hard to find OT figures still in their boxes and or in good condition... People bought them with the idea to play with them... And thats what kids did.. Played with them... So ones in good condition / in the box are truly rare.

Collectors bought the PT toys all up thinking they would go up in value. I remember going to TRU o Tuesdays and seeing the SW sections filled with adults snatching up all the figures to try and flip down the road.

It just does not work that way when it comes to toys..

Lol huh? That doesn?t apply here. This is star wars . Merch sells and rots sells but the ST doesn?t . What?s your excuse ? ROTs still sells boatloads of merch and so does clone wars meanwhile ST struggles to sell a figure of rey. Stop

My God in Heaven.. I could care less how well an Anakin doll sells.. He still cant act!!! :lol

You're joking right? ROTS score was awesome. And Palpatine cut sick in ROTS. Maul was cool but so was Anakin.
I still think somehow ROTS wounded you deeply and you just can't get over it.

Disney is wrapped up in this too, here is your "utopia" some folks think they want...

Again, since you?re bringing up a totalitarian regime, I don?t think you quite understand what I was speaking of, but no matter.

Bad form on Disney to film there, ignoring what?s going on, but hey, as long as they can make a profit of it, I suppose it?s fine by them...

Wow. That movie is absolutely boring. The last fight with maul is its most iconic and redeeming factor. Yup we definitely have different views on the matter lol

Oh I think I do understand what you are suggesting, I'm just pointing out the naivete of it and the similar outcomes such a system always eventually devolves into. I'm not suggesting your intentions are bad.

Hey buddy I?m just answering your silly notions that ROTS didn?t sell and is almost on ST level. And the dude may not be able to act but he?s still selling merch soooooooo . Ka Ching

The PT hurt many OT fans deeply cause it was something new and didn?t retread on old territory.

That?s cool man, let?s just move on and get back to SW.

Speaking of the age old debate of PT vs ST, although TROS was a fun and enjoyable movie, the story was a bit of a mess, TLJ is pretty much unwatchable for me, and TFA while fun was too derivative.
PT all the way for me, warts and all.

And musically the PT destroys the ST.

On a different subject, I was checking out some videos on the 4K77 project and I?m quite curious. How does one go about acquiring that? And is it easy to just play on one?s computer (I have a Mac).
Any pointers would be appreciated.

For all of you that talked yourself into believing they had a plan for this cluster**** of a trilogy, and that this embarrassment of a film was a carefully woven tale that perfectly wraps up the saga...

Straight from Daisy herself; it doesn't get anymore legitimate than that.

Other then my post about why the small toys didn?t retain the value, You will have to point me to the post where I said that the ROTS toys didn?t sell... I just said that the fact it does sell merch does not mean that the film is well made or well acted.

That is what my original post was about... the fact that lots of crap sells.. That don?t mean the films are good..

That seems to be the basis for some why the PT are well made movies.

I don?t hate ROTS. I just find it flawed and hugely disappointing.

I prefer Palps in TPM because he is not so over the top.

Music in TPM has many good themes ROTS has the one. I know some love all the dramatic sad music and it fits the film but as stand alone music it?s just not my fav.

As for Anakin The fact he becomes Vader is why he is given a major pass and some might call him ?cool? It?s why I give him one. If I didn?t the films would be unwatchable for me.

I love the Pod Race, Duel of the Fates, the final Space battle, Qui Gon, Palps, and Maul. It?s a bit boring but the best made of the three IMO. It feels the most like SW out of the PT but I believe much of that is due to real sets and nostalgia :)

Most telling quotes (about Rey's heritage): "At the beginning they were toying with an Obi-Wan connection. There were different versions and at one point she was no one... it kept changing."

Funny how back in the day of TFA she thought Rey's heritage was "obvious" - which I took to mean she was a Skywalker.

And worst of all: “It came to Episode IX & JJ pitched me the film and they were like 'Oh yeah Palpatine’s grandaddy' and I was like 'Awesome' and then two weeks later he was like 'Oh we're not sure...' So it kept changing. So even as we were filming I wasn’t sure what the answer was going to be.”

Assuming they were flip-flopping between granddaughter and daughter of clone?

Yep. But I dunno, execution matters. I don't give ROTS any pass just because the things that were ordained by the story to happen happened. As such, it is pretty much unwatchable for me.

I'll say this though, Christensen looked the part. His ROTS hair and outfit were cool. Likewise Obi-wan - pretty much exactly how we might have envisioned them. And that's how those Hot Toys would sell even to me if I were to be less disciplined.
