Why is the force at the bottom of the list.... it's the connective tissue that literally binds the Star Wars universe.
Rival house made me laugh, clearly just been watching game of thrones. Dinosaurs, that would be on my list when I was seven years old but clearly, so clearly, not needed in Star Wars where you have the creative freedom to make up any species that can pop into your head. It reads like a list made by a group of nincompoops who may have seen one of those Star Wars flicks that one time (the prominence given to 'droids' and 'space' sheesh!) who then rushed to throw in things that are hot right now (in the hopes that they can capture some of that shine) but most prevalence and focus given to their own ideology.
'High republic' is clearly a buzz phrase that is going around the office because of the new project but I bet most in that meeting have no idea when that time period is supposed to have occurred (and 'lived in' is the opposite of that period as the wealthy areas would look opulent, like the PT but even shinier).
I'm sitting here in my home office littered with Star Wars memorabilia with a Jedi Luke and Boba Fett figures from my childhood sitting on my desk and a freakin Bossk black series figure staring at me as I type. I have a vast knowledge of Star Wars and the 'expanded universe' having watched the movies (pre-disney) so many times, I've consumed the tv shows/cartoons books, comics and games (though none of the new ST stuff) and I'm not alone in this madness (passion lol) as there are many many people like me or with more knowledge than me out there - however, there appear to be so few of us in the creative roles at LucasFilm
(no offence to your team Talibane ).
If someone took a picture of me in my work space right now and said I worked in the lucasfilm 'story group' (or just at LFL in any team) from a less diverse time I suggest that no one would question it or eye roll (well they would probably eye roll but for reasons other than disbelief that I have that job).
It makes me shake my head ... How can they (or perhaps a better question should be why are they so willing to) not find qualified people out there with a love for the source material to fill those roles.
Meditate on this I will.
