Re: Star Wars: Episode IX - December 20, 2019

I have very.....scratch that, I have no hope E9 will be any good. With the OT cast out of the mix totally it's going to be an even bigger train wreck with the new cast carrying the ENTIRE thing. It was bad with the OT cast, but without them? Ugh.....

Re: Star Wars: Episode IX - December 20, 2019

I predict Kylo Ren will kill everyone in IX. He'll be the Emperor of the next trilogy for the broom kids to defeat.

He's an emo through and through - he'll kill himself first, then kill everyone as a force ghost.

Re: Star Wars: Episode IX - December 20, 2019

I'm looking forward to the Battle of the Broom Boys.

I can already hear the John Williams march music.

*insert Duel of the Fates*

Re: Star Wars: Episode IX - December 20, 2019

TFA with 10 years+ hype, OT crews Luke, Solo +Chewie, Leia, R2D2, Millenium Falcon - 2bil

TLJ with Luke, Chewie, Leia, Millenium Falcon - how much was that, 1bil3/4 ?

IX - Leia ? make your guess

Re: Star Wars: Episode IX - December 20, 2019

I predict Disney will make a lot of money on it, and the rage between sides will continue.

I know, it's a pretty safe bet. But I like winning (if you can call it that, in this case).

That is definitely for sure! :lol

Re: Star Wars: Episode IX - December 20, 2019

I wonder how heated next years debates over EP9 will be?? After viewing EP9, will either side change their tune and admit they were wrong in their love/hate over TLJ? Can JJ's EP9 redeem TLJ or further seal the ST's fate?? :dunno

I look forward to seeing how Disney markets the upcoming EP9. Having no lineage OT characters in it, other than poor Chewie, R2 & 3PO who have been relegated to poor background fodder. And then how they respond if it makes less than TLJ. Imagine if Jumanji 2 beats it.. :lol .. Alas that will never happen, but it will hurt Ep9's opening weekend.

If it does open to less, then I look forward to coming here to see the defenders of TLJ still try to refute that there were indeed a high % of fans unhappy with TLJ. And TLJ was great and JJ ruined EP9 or whatever. I will not be able to comment due to as of now I have no plans to watch EP9. Although that could still change, but I highly doubt it as I have no vested interest in any of these new ST characters.

Sadly, I'm a little excited to see IF Star Wars fails next year. Never thought I'd ever say that... :(

Re: Star Wars: Episode IX - December 20, 2019

At this point, the final episode in this trilogy is going to be taken as a standalone for me.

Like ROTS -- I didn't care for the first two but quite enjoyed the final at the time. I felt ROTS is essentially the only story needed to be told out of the PT trilogy.

I have a feeling Episode 9 will be like that... at least I hope its that good that I can forget the first two.

Re: Star Wars: Episode IX - December 20, 2019

My biggest problem with 9 is my total lack of excitement for it due to not at all liking TLJ. As it stands now, I honestly don't care if I miss out on seeing this in theaters at all, which is a total 180 to where I have always been with SW. It goes to show you how one bad movie can change your perspective entirely. I'm also extremely wary about what comes next after 9, if in fact RJ is getting to do a whole trilogy.

Re: Star Wars: Episode IX - December 20, 2019

Rey and Kylo are said to fall in love and later Kylo finds out that Rey has a baby that's not his. He's devastated by it and his rage ensues, accordingly. Disfunctional Reylo it is. That Rey would get with Han Solo's killer should be unacceptable imo. Then again it would diminish her Mary Sueness.

Obviously not a real spoiler. Surprised (not surprised) you took that time to spoiler tag it. :lol

Re: Star Wars: Episode IX - December 20, 2019

I'm not bashing people who liked Last Jedi, I don't understand them but i'm not bashing them for liking it. I hated it, and I refuse to watch anything else from the sequel trilogy. My excitement for Solo is very low as well. I think that Rogue One will be the last great Star Wars movie to me for a long while.

Re: Star Wars: Episode IX - December 20, 2019

Maybe I've been being a bit thick all these years...

In the PT, the Jedi believe Anakin to be "The Chosen One" prophesied to finally bring balance to the Force... Obviously they were wrong...

Clearly Luke was never the Chosen One either, and in ESB, Yoda says "There is another"... But he didn't mean Leia...

Is it Rey?

Is it Kylo?

Will IX finally fulfil Lucas' original vision?

If you end Star Wars at Return Of The Jedi, Anakin is the "Chosen One".

Re: Star Wars: Episode IX - December 20, 2019

Rey actually gave birth to the Force long long before Yoda was even born.

Basically you could refer to her as "The Mother" or "Chosen One" whichever suits your view, similar to the concept in Clone Wars

Re: Star Wars: Episode IX - December 20, 2019

Snicktity kept pushing something similar before TLJ came out. He was wrong of course. :lol

Lol o man. The old snoke force vampire, rey being and incarceration of his former lover, and just a whole bunch of other madness that didn’t come into fruition. He had the snoke sig and everything. I wish I could of seen his face as snoke got cut in half.

Re: Star Wars: Episode IX - December 20, 2019

Wrong. I read the script before the movie came out and it was accurate. I didn't want to believe Luke doesn't appear until the end. I hoped it wasn't true until I saw the movie. I knew that Han Solo dies and exactly how it happens and pretty much everything else.

Here it is.

https://makingstarwars.net/2015/05/a-compiled-synopsis-of-star-wars-the-force-awakens/

it’s a synopsis of a early script not the actual script.
