Re: Star Wars: Episode IX - December 20, 2019

I'm still gonna go buy the Last Jedi blu-ray because I hate myself.

I will say that my biggest reaction to Last Jedi was that it has given me a complete new appreciation for both the OT and PT now in hindsight. I mean, the prequels have some bad acting and cringe-worthy dialogue, but nothing in them ever made me angry or disappointed. I will take a movie full of Jar Jar and terrible child acting over a movie where they completely and bafflingly **** on Luke's entire character. And then kill him for no reason.

100% agree...except I wont buy this Antifa garbage dvd

Re: Star Wars: Episode IX - December 20, 2019

Really good points, I agree with most of your views.

The way Johnson and Kennedy treated the whole damn franchise was distasteful to say the least, the only thing I differ is that it needed to honor the past. I don't think honoring the past was strictly necessary only respecting it; however building a solid present was what was damn imperative and they failed horribly at it. The didn't honor Luke, they didn't respect Luke, they flat out humiliated Luke in a malicious, premeditated and continuous way.

They didn't even respect themselves damn it, Luke said that he just wanted to die, so am I to believe that this was the secret that Max Von Sydow's character was protecting in TFA?! :cuckoo:

The new faces don't approach the OT's cast's performances in any shape or form which is odd because it has some damn good actors in its ranks like Oscar Isaac, it really speaks volumes about how retarded the writing team truly is.

Their agenda thing isn't also what's "strictly bad". If they want to expand their fanbase and have more women watch Star Wars, I get that, it's a business and they want their investment back but when you want to "grow" at the expense of your core audience that's were things become ****ed up.

You can have a movie with an "empowering message" to women without utterly being ball wrecking, just look at productions like Mad Max: Fury Road, Wonder Woman and Game Of Thrones, films/series that can be viewed by anyone regardless of gender and be greatly enjoyed. TLJ gives vomitive female characters that have nothing on the likes of Diana Prince, Furiosa or Cersei Lannister and turns every male character into an incompetent imbecile.

In a nutshell Lucasfilms think that people are fools and that we will consume their garbage no matter what. I say vote with your wallets ladies and gents.

Edit: I only (begrudgingly) give a pass to the forces of destiny dollies because they have a freaking Wicket toy in it! Ewoks are ultra badass and deserve more merchandise damn it! :lol

You also have to consider that Jar Jar and Ruiner didn't have much confidence in the new characters. They're hack writers and they know it.

Re: Star Wars: Episode IX - December 20, 2019

“Mary Sue” truly is the signature of a hack writer since it was Max Landis who mainstreamed it for the kids.

Re: Star Wars: Episode IX - December 20, 2019

Who hires these idiots? I can tell a good star wars story and I don't even have to dig deep into the lore of the movies. Such unimagitive fools.

Heres a better trilogy.

The jedi are up and coming again and a new academy has opened for young jedi to train. Luke is the master. Luke wants to train the new Jedi to keep peace in the Galaxy.
But the remnants of a fallen empire make terrorist attacks all across the galaxy. Kinda like Isis. They are gaining a huge following. I'd have one of the training jedi be conflicted about joining this new rising empire.
I'd have a look at the empire's side and why they feel what they are doing is right.

In the end I'd have the sith rise up again, building up to a jedi vs sith war by the third movie. O and we can put in some rebel vs stormtrooper **** in for fan service.

There ya go.

Re: Star Wars: Episode IX - December 20, 2019

ANd it wasn't worth it since no one likes her. Not even kids. She will be remembered as the star of the lackluster ST that everyone forgot and made people forgive the prequels.

that sounds amazing....
It would have been amazing if the good guys are the ones in charge and the ones with the biggest ships and then the bad guys were the new "rebels" in small numbers and the ones going into hiding and the ones being sneaky.

We ALREADY had the underdog story in the original trilogy... these movies could have turned everything around. make the bad guys powerful and scary and dangerous and have the good guys be complacent in their peace and not be ready for the attacks you just mentioned.

What a WASTE of a new trilogy... they are retelling the same story OVER AND OVER AGAIN.. WHAT A WASTE

Said fans in 1980 and 1983....

Bull...not like todays ST...I was an adult back then and remember well boy...no way near the backlash of todays garbage ST...your case of the few vs the many...

Re: Star Wars: Episode IX - December 20, 2019

Said people watching original Shakespeare performances, too.

:lol :lol

And what's with Moses parting the Red Sea and then Joshua rehashing that by parting the Jordan River? Really God?

And Moses dying alone on a cliff as the fleeing Jews finally march safely into the Promised Land. #notmymoses

That's not entirely true ... at least not in my experience. I have two young daughters who could have taken or left Star Wars until Rey came along. Now they're much more invested.

Re: Star Wars: Episode IX - December 20, 2019

If you think that Johnson's sole influences for TLJ were other SW films then you really need to watch some Kurosawa.
