Yeah, next SW trilogy confirmed to be by GoT guys and not releasing until after KK's contract ends. Nothing from KK poster boy RJ until 2028 at the earliest. Sounds like KK and RJ are history.

Please remove KK and Rian. They have imploded Star Wars. Even crappy SW makes money, but think of the money you could make with an actually good SW content. All the Lucasfilm decision makers do not understand SW. Get someone in there that does. Unique and interesting characters/vehicles/plot = huge bank at the box office and merchandising. Time for new ground and new minds. Question is, is SW done? What can you actually make new that hasn't been in books/animated series/films, etc.

Somehow I have the feeling that wasn't up to her.
Yeah every good decision is not KK, only the bad ones....

Have you guys even bothered to read her resume?

Producer, not creator or overseer. She's better with logistics, not creative content. You don't just let some guy (Rian) come in with some crazy concept and let him have at it. Understand your audience and content. But she played her political game instead.

So , Ill just leave this here...

Have you watched Episode 7 or 8? Reality bites. She married Frank Marshall. You think Spielberg let her override his creative input? She knows people. Doesn't mean she is fit to run Lucasfilm.

Sent from the inside of a giant slug in outer space.....

Quite an extensive list, with a lot of great movies... however, it seems to me that the vast majority of the good and memorable movies in that list are attached to some of the top directors in Hollywood.
So it would seem that she’s very good when working with experienced and talented people guiding the boat, but not so much when working with lesser talent.

At any rate, I still maintain that the circumstances point to her having been relieved of her duties.

And already established directors at that. Even bttf was greenlit in part because Spielberg believed in it (and after Zemeckis had success with Romancing the Stone). But good on her for that.

Maybe Gremlins was an early risk, since Joe Dante wasn't a guarantee by any stretch at that point... another Spielberg production, though.

This. She’s nothing without the actual talented people behind these films.

Get the **** out of here with her producing credits. Doesn’t mean jack ****. She didn’t write or direct anything.

There was a time where Spielberg wanted to be the new Disney... and he green-lit everything and anything with fantastic elements in it. He produced a lot of junk, more than the good stuff.

Kathleen has been very good navigating the larger than life personalities because she doesn't have one. She's been a glorified assistant most of her life. She is trusted by powerful people. So who the hell else is Lucas going to be OK turning the reins to?

If Kathleen was truly creative, she would have broken out many, many years ago. She tried once, with Frank, on Arachnophobia. That was it. She gets things done; she's organized and can manage massive shoots and massive egos. She's a survivor. Again, seems like a logical choice.

But now seeing what we've been given during her tenure, you can see her strengths are not in the creative process.

But if you'd been watching for as long as I, you would have noticed that with Arachnophobia.

In short: hanging out with creative geniuses doesn't make you one.

Got to say though, she's got the greatest resume ever for someone who will never be remembered.

Curious.... opening night or later on?

I have seen its several times now and no one laughed at the trailer....

But later crowds were much more of the casual type and much more disruptive of EG , even mocking parts....specifically the BW / Hawkeye scenes.

Opening weekend. I thought that scene looked pretty cool too, lol but what do I know. :lol

I keep reading how Dave Filoni was Lucas’ protege while creating Clone Wars so I cant figure out why Lucas didn’t put in a better word to give Filoni more control along with Kennedy. I’m sure if Filoni had some input or what stories were going to be made the Rey trilogy would be better.

Filoni is a cartoon guy I mean even with Mandalorian he had to have his hand held by Favreau.

Hollywood system would chew a Filoni up and spit him out.

But he still creates great stories. I would still give him a look see. Kennedy’s agenda was her own not one that benefited the Star Wars story.
