Despite Teat-sucking Luke and Carrie Poppins... you might be right.

I get that the PT have now this weird cult following but for me I simply can not accept them as even real movies.

If anything i?m actually looking forward to Disney upgrading elements from the PT into proper cringe free experiences.

Regarding the ST the second they announced JJ for TFA I knew we were screwed but I held out hope after those amazing trailers.

Then the second I saw 32 years of exposition explained away in the opening crawl of TFA I knew we were screwed again lol

I?m really hoping that TROS becomes the one great movie in the ST.

If it does at least it?s one more than the PT gave us.

Glorious?

Which part little Ani, the idiotic Jedi Council, the cringe worthy love story, little Fett, dumb GG, crack Yoda or Anakin?s ridiculous fall and child murders.

I actually see these PT cultists defending JarJar now it?s crazy.

The pod race scene was 20 freaking minutes long and it served zero purpose lol

Honestly watching TPM two nights ago I thought Ahmed Best might give the best performance in the movie considering what they were all given to work with. I guess behind Ian Mcdiarmid, maybe.

I think George wrote a Jarjar fit every ten minutes to wake the audience up. He’s not funny but he’s somehow more fully realized than any of the flesh people reading textbooks the rest of the time.

Ahmed Best was ground breaking god bless his soul shame the end result was that abomination of cinema.

Well, "that apj guy" is giving his blessing to post whatever you all want to without spoiler tags. It's obvious now that all anyone else wants to do in ST threads is just trash the ST, so there's really no point for a fan of it to keep interacting here. I guess I just ended up being the stupidest of the fans who has taken the longest to finally realize what this thread is actually for.

Personally, I'd just stop reading (and posting in) a thread for a movie and trilogy that I don't give a **** about, but there's obviously great appeal in not doing so that I'm just missing. :dunno I'm all for whatever makes people feel good, though, so more power to ya.

Lets be fair ajp, you're just experiencing what we've been making PT fans put up with for the last 20 years. ''Only now...at the end..do you understand''

C'mon Khev, we all know that once TROS comes out, you'll hop back on board the train. Then a year later you'll agree with everyone that hates it. [emoji1]

:lol

Hey in my little trailer commentary video I said I'll probably like the movie if they just have a sweet space battle and the wherewithal to edit out any more "Carrie Poppins/'saving what we love'" nonsense. So I'm still holding out hope that I come away a fan. That doesn't mean I won't reject it as a superfluous taint to the OT and RO though. ;)

With all due respect, a-dev (and I do respect you a *ton*), I wouldn't go into a PT thread to repeatedly bash the PT there. I'd give my point of view, discuss it a bit, and then be done with it. I know that there are PT fans who enjoy those films, so I'd have to wonder what my goal was if I specifically went into where they'd be most drawn to in order to repeatedly just trash what they appreciate.

I visit PT figure threads quite a bit (because I think all of those HT releases have looked fantastic), but I make it a point not to post there and ridicule those movies or characters in those threads. I failed twice that I can remember, and felt like an a**hole both times. But everybody's different, and I understand that. It's just, when you say "we," I wanted to note this distinction (albeit a subtle one, admittedly).

When it comes to SW, the PT isn't the only thing that I find frustratingly bad. But unless I'm specifically asked about Solo, or Rebels, or the comics, you might not ever know it. Same with poor movies in other franchises (MCU, Terminator, Predator, Aliens, Die Hard, Indy . . . they all have at least one crappy movie, imo): I just don't get the appeal of going to where those fans have a thread for the latest film just to keep taking a dump, over and over again, on it. Sure, I might strongly prefer the earlier stuff. So what? Why continue to beat the same drum for people who are interested in the new stuff?

If there was an NFL forum, with one thread for each of the 32 teams, and every thread was almost nothing but other fans crapping on that thread's team, I'd find it just as peculiar. But I'd have no interest in trying to change how these threads operate, my post was just a product of being exhausted by more of the same. Pay no mind.
