It's funny. This has got to be the tenth interview in as many days I've seen with RJ and MH side by side (always - wonder why that might be?) being directly and repeatedly questioned about the "haters," with them mocking it with gems such as how every SW movie has had a massive backlash that has driven a bitter, toxic wedge through SW fandom. As if what has happened is some kind of "normal" reaction that every SW film has.:slap:rotfl

Yet... that SHEER NUMBER of interviews and repetition of discussion about the "supposed" backlash says it all. I mean I thought it was bots. I thought it was a few hundred neck-beards. I thought it was a tiny minority of "fans" who hate diversity (or something.)

So... why? Why SO MANY interviews doing what can only be objectively described as damage control and Narrative massage? For a few hundred intolerant neck-beards who used bots to "weaponize RT" (still cracks me up, Khev... STILL :rotfl)?

I'm guessing you could do a montage of HUNDREDS of recent clips from different interviews of RJ saying how the "haters" don't matter and how it has NOT altered his plans, and with MH at his side (leash just out of camera range) using the same sardonic tone he used against TLJ for months, now flip-flopped against the "haters."

So I'd say the same thing to RJ I've been saying to Khev - when you're trying to spin something, clearly establish your Narrative and stick to it. Khev always puts the disliked-TLJ "fans" in quotations, and that's a solid start because it questions loyalty while dismissing them as true fans, but if RJ wants to say the backlash was this tiny minority of haters and put it down to stuff like "the internet," then have Disney demand that interviewers stop asking so many questions about it.

Because... if the backlash was so TINY, and all about bots or manipulation, and it happens to every SW movie anyway, then why talk about it SO MUCH? Because doing so starts to suggest the opposite of your carefully ordered Narrative: that in truth (yes, a tricky concept with a conglomerate like Disney pulling the strings of a weakened media) the fanbase is pretty evenly divided into strong like and strong dislike for TLJ, and that its NOT some tiny minority of "supposed fans" as we've been repeatedly told.

Otherwise... it would have long ago been dismissed (like back in December) and moved on from, and not really still discussed. RIGHT?

I have been reading these comments and I am dying laughing over here [emoji23][emoji23] is it also...possible that your conspiracy theory rattled little brain is seeing conspiracy theories....where there are none? Just a question because maybe if you think someone that disagrees with you is part of a global conspiracy meant to further a narrative that contradicts what you KNOW to be true well you might want to see a doctor is all I'm trying to say.

Been saying it since the first month....

50% liked it
50% have a hate for it unmatched by any other SW film...

Which is why it seems so unbalanced.

Unmatched..like that word.....I wonder why...oops...some would say overblown or fake news....many legit reasons for unmatched I say...Not my Star Wars?...how about not star Wars at all only in name...change the characters names and face...some folks wouldn't even know its a star wars film....try it with ep 1-6 ...will always remain Star wars

Re: Star Wars: Episode IX - December 20, 2019

I am just blown away how good TLJ played at home it makes most of Force Awakens seem as bland as Bland Panther.

TLJ was definately a step in the right direction for the ST.

Uh-oh, we got a fake news clean-up on aisle seven!:lol:slap

Dying laughing while watching interview after interview after interview where RJ and MH do NOTHING BUT discuss the same "backlash" questions... from a teeny-weeny-tiny backlash of 200 old neckbeards. Riiggght...

Yes... its all a global conspiracy about an "alleged" backlash - and no, I'm not the one who dreamed up "bots" and "weaponized RottenTomatoes.":rotfl

And... around here across the forum, it does indeed seem about 50/50 right down the middle, so if you need to see a doctor - maybe make it an ophthalmologist instead of the proctologist.

I already did a stint in the porn industry a very long time ago, behind the scenes of course.

Hey had to pay for school one way or another and I chose another lol

It's just common sense. There's no need to call something you don't agree with a "conspiracy theory".

Also, if someone talkin' crap about a franchise you like on the internet makes you leave a lame hur-dur comment about that someone's mental health... maybe it's time for YOU to give it a break and take an anger management course? :)

I still love TFA but I think you're right. It's a good thing that that movie has Han Solo otherwise TLJ would overshadow it in pretty much every conceivable way.

Glad you’re here you arrived just in time to witness the passing of the torch of Killmonger replacing Luke in the pantheon of cinematic legends as per Chakor.

Liquor up first before stepping into the BP thread lol

Re: Star Wars: Episode IX - December 20, 2019

Sooooo...this gets crazy so put on your seatbelts....

not only will Finn’s real name be revealed in 9 BUT it will also be revealed that he and Maz are indeed spys working for the FO and not only that but Capt Phasma was on too his treachery as she was a resistance spy so when Finn says Rebel scum he really meant her. Still doesn’t explain his Starkiller base actions or his suicide mission was it all a ruse?

Oh and something or other about an all out war

Re: Star Wars: Episode IX - December 20, 2019

I hang out at some very dark corners of the internet starting right here lol

I could see a role reversal somewhere in that group.

Maybe frumpy?

Re: Star Wars: Episode IX - December 20, 2019

What a truly horrible scene that was the worst in the entire movie, Maz Fett, but something is not right about that lady.

I still think she’s Sith.

A Phantom Menace lets say.
