I never said Force Healing was new.

So it was in the texts that were the foundation for the Jedi Order and their future teachings? But the healing trick evaded Anakin somehow? I'm not sure how you're reconciling Rey's grasp on Force healing from having read texts that were the basis for the whole Jedi religion. Are you saying that the healing power was discarded at some point from future lessons?

Rey and Kylo weren't being projected to be observable by everyone and everything. Their minds were being bridged by way of the Force. Those who weren't Force users couldn't see them in those locations. Luke's projection manifested itself in a way that even C-3PO could see. Plus, the fact that his projection was wearing different clothes is proof that Luke was actively constructing his projected self. Rey and Kylo were appearing in real time however they happened to be dressed (or not :slap).

And the movie tells us that when?

Rey & Kylo were being projected to each other by Snoke or else the movie is lying. :dunno

I’m not defending RoS but the Jedi letting Force healing slip out of the curriculum does have a certain logic to it. It defies nature and would seem more of a selfish, Sith-y practice IMO.

Precisely! The movie had Snoke saying, "It was I who bridged your minds." It was bridging Force-users. Luke's projection was manifested differently in both structure and purpose, and exposition was laid down to make that clear.

I stand corrected!

I do recall that line now that you mention it. :duff

Doesn’t improve my opinion of the Crait scenario but that’s one issue I can put to bed. :lol

Not discarded but lost. Along with Force Projection. Apparently going back to the written source of all teachings contained revelations that had *not* been fully passed down across all the generations. Possibly some ancient Jedi Council began censuring out the texts that taught abilities that could potentially kill you just by using them and therefore potentially valuable teachings got lost. If we go by Obi-Wan's speech that says the Jedi are "over a thousand generations" old then that's over *25,000* years. :horror

I have no trouble accepting that certain writings would be lost over such an insane period of time. Come on ajp where's the fun in having 25,000 year old books show up in the films if nothing cool can be gleaned from them? :dunno

There was more than just mind bridging though. Remember the water drops on Kylo's glove.

:lol Well, one less issue is better than none. :duff

Okay. Thank you for clearing that up.

Kylo just sweats a lot. He and Finn.

Speaking of, (and it’s been a while since I finished TLJ) but is there an inference that Luke takes damage from Kylo stabbing his projectin?

The mind-bridge thing kind of works better in retrospect now that RoS doubled down on it.

I do remember reading someone mention that Ach-To Luke was clutching his chest where Kylo had "stabbed" him which I thought was pretty interesting.

Actually I was waiting for you to give me your legit take on the water drops. :) I wasn't contesting your point just calling out that something more was going on.

My legit take on the water drops is that it was stupid and I hated it. It was a step too far. Just like the Holdo maneuver should've just been ripping through Snoke's ship. When RJ included the other star destroyers, that was beyond stupid (several steps too far).

I still remember Toyfare Magazine ripping apart how easily the Jedi were killed during Order 66. In their version they had Aayla Secura checking her mailbox and then clones driving up and shooting her from the car windows and then for Ki Adi Mundi one Clone got on his hands and knees behind Mundi while another Clone pushed him causing to fall over and instantly die, lol.

Holy crap I never knew that existed lol

He didn't need a broken X-Wing as a valid excuse but showing it to be broken would have been one of the easiest ways to quickly convey that he *did* have an excuse. The other option is just to assume that Ach-To was hours away from Crait via lightspeed travel and he needed to get there in seconds. Issue resolved even with a perfectly functional X-Wing.

With the amount of powers now available both through the force and otherwise, I'm thinking Luke was pretty damn lame for not taking on the whole FO himself.:lol

Some hyperspace skipping, followed by a force-guided Holdo manuever ("hyperspace ramming") on the ATATs, force healing himself as he's injured, having Ben and Yoda assist in the fight as force ghosts, if he's killed summoning lightning to fry stuff then resurrecting himself (aided by Yoda and Ben?,) hell, maybe resurrecting Ben and Yoda as well (new power for Episode X?) along with dark side and light side versions of Anakin etc etc.

I just hand wave his death by assuming that the length of time he projected over so far a distance was what did it. :D

Of course - that's why he stops to have a leisurely chat with Leia. Knowing that each passing second is literally another potential nail in his coffin.:monkey3:monkey3

To be fair, even LFL and Leland Chee got nothing when it comes to explaining why exactly Luke dies in TLJ.

But hey - it's only the death of Luke Skywalker.:dunno:lol

So he consciously chose Just For Men original formula jet black for his beard.:lol

While hoping that no FO agents had glimpsed him (taken his picture?) in the past many years as he searched for Palps and Reyfinders to know that his beard was grey, thereby firmly tipping off everyone including Kylo that something was up with this Crait Luke. And umm... not to mention the portion of the audience paying attention enough to know that his grey beard was now jet black.:slap:lol

What a silly risk Luke (and the filmmakers) took in making that "dyed hair" decision - for basically zero payoff.

The weirdest thing was him having his blue saber, which Kylo had just assisted in exploding. But I guess Luke wouldn’t know that because only Rey Palpatine has a connection to Anakin’s lightsaber.

What a mess. :lol

The ST - where nearly all the great stuff happens offscreen.:lol

CF actually has better facial movement in that comic than in the movies. In some of that footage of CF it really looks like where they take a pic of someone and superimpose a moving mouth.
