I keep reading how TROS made so many feel like a kid again. I first saw Star Wars when I was a kid and I don't remember having so many questions after watching it. The only thing I recall was unbridled excitement. Man I wish I could feel that way about a Star Wars movie again.

:lol

Why do any of us come here? Its a strange place for older gentlemen if you think about it... a bit like a sandbox at recess in 4th grade, arguing whether Batman could beat Superman and such.

Ben Shapiro gets it :)

Pretty much sums up exactly how I feel about the film and its decisions it made with its story and characters.

Yep I have to totally agree with Luke, Han, Leia, Kylo, Rey, and Palpatine being total homeruns in this film. Hell even 3PO was. I'm not as harsh on Poe and Finn but definitely agree that they were *way* below the others. I'm also not as harsh against TFA and TLJ because I did always try (not 100% successfully with TLJ toward the end) to give those films the benefit of the doubt that their existence would be justified and man making Rey a Palpatine was just the perfect narrative stroke to give the story the boost that it needed to tie it all together in satisfying fashion.

Why do my apostrophes turn into question marks for some posts, but not others?

Why do I still keep coming here every so often when it is the same mindless discussion each and every year? Rise of Skywalker is virtually interchangeable with Last Jedi, yet here we are, discussing and ranking endings. It?s just like 2017!

Why, why, why.

I ask the same question.....

About the apostrophes or about coming here?

About the ?quotes?

And why Difabio comes here.....

It happens to me whenever I use the site's SSF Mobile Style with my phone. If I'm using my PC or laptop I don't have an issue. Another quirk of the 2019 board migration that we apparently will have to live with forever...

It actually does for me because now I can finally let go of "what could have been" with ROTJ forevermore.

I'll try to stay out of the way of your enjoyment, but I just gotta say I'll never, ever understand how someone who clearly enjoys the OT as much as you do can feel this movie enhances the OT. I can't believe we watched and are discussing the same film. It was one crime against the galaxy to the next.

To me, the only movie that is a net positive since ROTJ is RO.

Meh, screen time means nothing. Look at Boba Fett. She had plenty of screen time. In fact, its better if all her scenes were significant -- as they were -- and not add one that is little more than a unfunny joke (and used primarily as a time cut).

see above

I didn't say I thought she required more screen time, I said JJ probably felt it was needed. I found it awkward & unnecessary.

Thank you, it's always nice when someone can understand that. :) :duff

Hell yeah. Life doesn't get much better than smiling for over two hours straight while watching a SW movie on the big screen. :D

What brand? LG? Or is it a Vizio?

Vizio

Their best tv ever and equal to the top Samsung and Sony models a beast of a tv for a fraction of their cost.

There weren't a huge number of 3D Blu-rays made anyway. I kinda gave up on the 3D thing a year or two ago, even though a couple of nature docs I saw were just mind-blowing on my 3D TV.

Umm yeah like no.

I have a 4K vizio… Blacks are very close to perfect... Still think about getting an OLED.

I don't know what to say.. Maybe you had no questions because you were a kid.. I mean I think I remember thinking Darth Vader died when I saw it and when my friends said that he survived I argued with them because Sequels were just not a thing back then... So I refused to believe the villain survived..

Perhaps in my cynical old age I would ask questions like "Who the hell is the Emperor?" that Tarkin is talking about. He sounds important, how do you not show him? Would we let a film get a pass like that if we were not expecting a sequel? I mean really only Planet of the Apes movies got sequels back then and that was in the 60's :lol It was a simpler time then though.

Would I want to know how the Death Star got around so fast? I still have a hard time picturing that thing going into Hyperspace :lol

I don't know.. To me TROS captured the spirit of the OT in the fact that I had fun and was excited. I liked what they did with all the main characters. Especially Han, Luke, Leia, Rey, and Kylo.

:lol

Yep.

Its fun to discuss movies.. Simple as that

No worries my friend we just have a different viewpoint on what we will accept post-OT and where we would prefer the story to go post-OT. That's why it's such a difficult task for any new film to satisfy all of us. Our preferences definitely overlap when it comes to RO though! :rock

I would say I was more forgiving of Poe and Finn also.. In fact this was the only film where I really liked Poe. I always like Finn and I guess his screen presence and charisma wins me over.

I was not as forgiving (obviously) of the first two film.. I still think they are incredibly flawed films and feel the this new movie could have won over everyone if the other two films were better.

I get the issue people have with it. Hopefully Disney learns there lesson for any future trilogies they might do.

It would be great if they would come up with a plan to finish the Solo trilogy, as I think that would help increase my enjoyment.. I hate that its just going to end the way it did :(

But why Snoke?

But why Snoke?

Why not Snoke ?

I have no idea what you are asking :lol

Been very happy with mine overall. There are some limitations to the tech... But all the TV's seem to have that. I don't have the Quantum series though.

OLED seems to be the best with regards to picture quality but even then there have people who have been affected by Burn in.

Cheers and Happy New Year to you and all! And to 2020 and season 2 of The Mandalorian!
