It's like he is one with the vegetation behind him. It's kind of impressive how a human can act so little. :lol

When it suits their agenda, yes.

You won't see it if you wallow in your white privilege. The only "agenda" is Hollywood's need to perpetuate racist and sexist stereotypes even though this is 2020 and not 1920.

Is this an outtake from the rumored JJ TROS cut? You think the Deluxe HT TROS Poe figure will also come with a bag of white "spice"?

Yep I have to totally agree with Luke, Han, Leia, Kylo, Rey, and Palpatine being total homeruns in this film. Hell even 3PO was. I'm not as harsh on Poe and Finn but definitely agree that they were *way* below the others. I'm also not as harsh against TFA and TLJ because I did always try (not 100% successfully with TLJ toward the end) to give those films the benefit of the doubt that their existence would be justified and man making Rey a Palpatine was just the perfect narrative stroke to give the story the boost that it needed to tie it all together in satisfying fashion.

I do share people's disdain for a lot of the decisions in The Last Jedi but, like you, i always gave the movies a fair shake.
I can see where people are coming from with problems concerning Rey(I have to admit that before TFA was released, i didn't even know the term "Mary-Sue"), but in my mind, if Luke can go from being a moisture farmer one day, to flying an X-wing the next, then I was able to believe that Rey could do the things she did in TFA. Luke was just as much a Mary-Sue as Rey was.
People forget that Luke had NO IDEA what the force was in ANH. He had to be told everything. And most of his problems during training were centred around his belief that these powers were unbelievable. Yet by the end of ANH he realises it's a power he holds.
Rey knew about the force(Maybe not much, but she knew of it), and the Jedi. I just liken it to someone coming along and telling you that you have inherited superpowers that you were previously unwaware of. Once you know, you'd be open to doing all kinds of crazy things. If anything, Rey, having heard the "myths" about Luke, has a step up on what the Jedi might be capable of. You can only imagine the "cantina stories" floating about on Jakku about the feats Luke accomplished(Real or imagined).
I just think that in a galaxy where people can move rocks with their minds, the term mary-sue doesn't apply, simply because of the phenomenal powers people can have.
And i love the character of Rey, regardless of the haters.
Star Wars is so cool. Even Rian Johnson can't ruin that for me, lol.

Nope. You're going to have to get your fun elsewhere.

I’m not against anyone finding enjoyment in this movie. For me it was so much fan service it took me away from enjoying it. I’ve always believed that a movie was like a sleeping bag that you unrolled to it’s conclusion. TROS seems more like that old tent you had to assemble with instructions in a foreign language and all you had to go by were the pictures. “Oh yeah I remember that! That looks familiar!” It just takes longer to get there hitting all the old mental memories from when you were a kid. When your doing it it doesn’t make sense but in the end it’s a tent. That’s TROS a lot doesn’t make sense story wise but in the end you have a movie.

That's one of the most agreeable analogies that I've ever completely disagreed with...:lol

Poor Ray Ray, all the voters must be woman hater or something.

Simply too much for the so-called protagonist of the Mouse's non-canon ST.

So I saw this for the third time last night. A few observations:

  1. I really enjoyed the evolution of the Rey/Kylo Force Diad. For me, Daisy really sold the scene when Rey heard all the Jedi voices supporting her, and she perfectly conveyed Rey's calm, renewed hope upon realizing that Ben had come to help her.
  2. I still contend that the Sith acolytes in the stands were apparitions conjured by Palps to trick Rey into believing he had overwhelming support/numbers. Either that or they were representations of all the previous Sith living in Palps. I don't see how their being dusted upon his demise tracks if they're anything else. IMO the only "real" Sith supporters in his temple/stronghold were those working in his lab & the guards that Rey and Ben fought.
  3. The end scenes where "people all over the galaxy are rising up" against the First Order is a blatant rip-off of the "people all over the world are rising up" scenes at the end of Independence Day. It finally clicked where I'd seen/heard that before. Not exactly stealing from the best there, JJ. :lol I could forgive him for this if it wasn't for those damn Ewoks. :slap
