I'll try to stay out of the way of your enjoyment, but I just gotta say I'll never, ever understand how someone who clearly enjoys the OT as much as you do can feel this movie enhances the OT. I can't believe we watched and are discussing the same film. It was one crime against the galaxy to the next.

To me, the only movie that is a net positive since ROTJ is RO.

No worries my friend we just have a different viewpoint on what we will accept post-OT and where we would prefer the story to go post-OT. That's why it's such a difficult task for any new film to satisfy all of us. Our preferences definitely overlap when it comes to RO though! :rock

Yep.. This series is just going to be one of those things that fans will probably never agree on... Who knows though perhaps time will be kind to the series or time will expose all its warts and we can all come together again.

I think because of how much I hated TFA and TLJ but really enjoyed TROS I can really fully understand where both parties are coming from.

Its weird though how I watched this film with two of my best friends who are the same age as me, die hard OT fans, didn't care for the first two PT films, and both came out loving this film and feeling exactly the way I did. Both of them have what I consider quality taste and intelligence when it comes to films... But there are those on here that I would say I feel the same way about with regard to cinema and yet feel this movie is the worst thing ever to happen to SW...

Weird but this stuff happens in the world of cinema.

Here?s another one that is truly spot on: https://youtu.be/Df1xHolUT-s

I think this guy makes some great points.. I would argue that in the world of Star Wars fandom the venom goes both ways.

Like I said in a recent post.. Hating the first two but liking this last one makes it easier to feel for the haters.

I am just glad that this film was able to melt my heart :) :) :)

Been very happy with mine overall. There are some limitations to the tech... But all the TV's seem to have that. I don't have the Quantum series though.

OLED seems to be the best with regards to picture quality but even then there have people who have been affected by Burn in.

Yeah the Vizio QX is all kinds of awesome.

Amazing brightness.

OLED is obviously also great.

But horrible for the wallet lol

Jye had a similar idea long ago...

Cheers and Happy New Year to you and all! And to 2020 and season 2 of The Mandalorian!

Right on! :rock

Memories of a simpler time.

Indeed, lol.

Man that is awesome that Falicity Jones got to stand next to Khev? Lucky Girl!!

:lol :lol

Yeah if TROS went south for me then I'd totally be on the side of those who dismiss this trilogy. Like you say thankfully that wasn't the case for us.

Khev has a cheesy, sinister grin in that picture making him look more like Dr. Torpedo.

Yeah I fully planned on playing it cool and then ended up grinning ear to ear like an idiot, lol. :slap But still it was fun to do our little "prom pic" brief as it was, lol.

This thread has become a very unhealthy habit for me.

I come here. I read stuff. Sometimes I get riled up.

I feel like I've made it clear that I hate this movie and everything it represents, and I like it when other people agree with me.

But then there's others that actually seemed to enjoy it somehow.

I'll never convince them that this movie is a pile of dog****, and they'll never convince me that this was in any way a remotely competent enjoyable film.

So my constantly coming here to read up on "the latest" is essentially the internet equivalent of whacking myself in the balls with a hammer and then getting all furious and not even thinking about the fact that I'm the one that whacked myself in the first place.

So I fully intend to just peace out, stay the hell out of this thread and leave it to the other "haters" and the other faction, what I would consider "haters in denial" but nah, just ball busting....I know a lot of you liked it. But man....this thread is a bad habit for me and I already have enough of those.

So dudes...please do me a small favor....if I come in here and start posting again, remind me that I already said I wasn't gonna do that and tell me to buzz off. I'd appreciate it if you're somewhat polite about it, but maybe I need the hard approach to break this nasty habit.

So that's that.....please enjoy the debate, but I gotta bow out for my own sanity. I'm gonna do my damndest to just stay out. Let's see how it goes.

Ta, gentlemen.

So supposedly they cut the Jedi ghosts from appearing at the end during Rey's battle with Palpatine because of China's rule against having ghosts in a movie? That can't be right especially since China hates SW with or without ghosts, lol. Plus there was Yoda in TLJ and Luke appearing on the island in this one.

A ghost army? Too similar to LOTR: ROTK, probably.

Yeah I'm actually glad that they didn't appear. I know people are hearing about all these alternate endings; the JJ cut, the Lucas cut, etc., and I must say that so far nothing sounds as good as the "Disney" cut that we ended up with. After Solo bombed Iger said that going forward the buck stops with him and maybe those of us who liked how this turned out have him to thank.

So it's all up to one guy's taste. Not the producer or the filmmaker, but the president of a company. That's probably the very thing Lucas was trying to avoid when he made SW, if I remember correctly. I don't blame them, considering how much money is at stake. These things are practically made in a lab, not unlike Snoke, ironically.
