Two new details from Colin Trevorrow's script:

Rey's last name was going to be Solana.

After she killed Kylo Ren on Mortis a dimensional rift was going to open between the living world and netherworld where she was going to dance and celebrate with all the Jedi ghosts, lol.

I'm really curious to know what guys like ajp and Prime Clone think of this.

Some people think that TROS dissed Anakin but at least HC helped contribute to Rey's victory verbally. In Trevorrow's Episode IX Anakin never appears (only Yoda, Luke, and Ben show up to try and get Kylo to turn during his final showdown with Rey) and really the only reference to Anakin is Kylo saying that he was weak and destroying Vader's helmet and Luke telling Rey "My father had that anger too."

JJ cut even gave us QuiGon. :yess:

I thought it was that they heard word of Sith activity brewing on Exegol and wanted to investigate?

Cut me some slack I was drunk lol

Heck yeah and Mace too. Basically every Jedi that died at Palpatine's hand or because of him got to have the last word against him.

Funny that Neeson came back for TROS but not AOTC, lol. (His "Anakin, Anakin" was just reused audio from TPM and the weird "Nooooo" that followed was Ben Burtt.)

lol

I also remember that backstory in the days of arguing with Force-vampire SNIKT.

That's also where all the "Snoke is Darth Plagueis" theories stemmed from. Darth Plagueis let Palpatine think he was dead so he could continue his pursuits of creating life through the force as he no longer cared about the whole Sith lore. Or something like that...

I did read the Darth Plagueis novel. Was pretty good. A shame Disney didn't keep it as canon. Now it definitely wouldn't of worked with all the changes to old Palps...

There are still videos being uploaded on youtube about how TROS completely ruined Anakin?s ultimate heroics from ROTJ. :slap

Those ROTS fans are relentless aren?t they like summer knats buzzing by your ears lol

Don?t start.

Remember in TLJ Luke said to Rey that he had seen this raw strength ONLY ONCE before and it didn?t scare him enough then well I?m reminded of how cocky confident and sure of himself he was against Palpatine before getting his ass handed to him.

Some are using that Luke dialogue as proof that Disney was always planning for Palpatine all along and ok fine yes that does seem to work in its favor BUT Luke acting so scared and surprised by her power level in TLJ still contradicts his dialogue to her in TROS that he knew all along.

That is from a certain point of view. :gah:

Wait, wait, wait . . . Some people (who are lying to themselves) are actually suggesting that Luke was speaking about Palpatine in that TLJ scene!? Holy ****! :rotfl

They might want to watch that scene again. Luke's full dialogue goes: "I've only seen this raw strength once before . . . in Ben Solo. It didn't scare me enough then. It does now."

Not exactly a mystery as to who he was referring to when he says "Ben Solo" by name. :lol

The disrespect of Anakin comes from undermining his legacy by saying that he didn't actually defeat or kill Palpatine. The Trevorrow script *would not* bring Palpatine back. So, Anakin destroying him in ROTJ would've still stood. Therefore, how would leaving Anakin out of the movie disrespect his legacy the way TROS did by bringing Palps back so that Rey could be the one to defeat him?

There are some things in the Trevorrow script that I love, and would've had a blast seeing on screen. But there are also parts that would've had me throwing up in my mouth. A mixed bag for sure, but one I'd probably prefer overall.

A lot of the alleged script details seem to change depending on who is "reporting" on the leak. The most comprehensive summary of it that I've found was the video below:

I'm not a ROTS fan, but I definitely think Anakin's victory was taken away by TROS. Not his "heroics" per se, and not his personal redemption. But his actual achievement, in terms of having any meaningful impact, was definitely taken away. Palpatine wasn't stopped in ROTJ. He went right back to corrupting Skywalkers, having planets blown up, enslaving people, and preserving the Sith.

Do you actually disagree?

Yeah here's supposedly the original guy who got a hold of the script just reading major portions of it on video. Trevorrow was going to totally double down on Rose Tico cringe and SJW identity politics but there is some stuff at the end that I must say is quite epic.

Also SNIKT is gonna lose it because Tor Valum was basically the Sith Vampire that he wanted Snoke to be and he even teaches Kylo how to drain the Living Force out of others. Rey ascends the teaching of both the Jedi and the Sith by basically becoming a Grey Jedi at the end. It's all there.

Worth a watch if you've got the time, particularly the last 20 minutes (where he reads the entire ending):

LOTS of stuff from this script was repurposed for TROS.

Poe hitting on Rey and getting denied instead of Zori.

Rey slicing off several of Kylo's fingers during their duel and then he drains her and regrows his fingers, etc.

The big "lighting of the beacons" sequence was a hologram of Leia basically repeating her "help me Obi-Wan" speech but to the entire galaxy with a montage of planets watching her hologram.

After training under Tor Valum (and Plageuis name is mentioned when Kylo asks Valum if he trained him before Palpatine) Kylo goes to Mortis to open some well of power to basically get as powerful as Palpatine was at the end of TROS but Rey intercepts him and they have their big duel.

Instead of 3PO's memory being extracted by Babu Frik it is Rey's subconscious that gets probed by the Seer who then tells her to go to Mortis to stop Kylo.

At one point Leia goes to meet Lando at his bar and asks him to gather the smugglers, he initially turns her down by saying "My fighting days are done, we already won a war and what good did it do?" But then of course he changes his mind and leads a bunch of pirates into battle including Bossk and from what it sounds like maybe even the bounty hunters who fought Han and the rathtars.

The Han Solo cameo is a vision Kylo has of the day he left his parents to pursue a greater power and his dad tried to stop him.

Eh, PT Anakin betrayed and murdered OT Anakin.

A young actor named Hayden Christiansen, who was a pupil of acting until he turned to evil, helped George Lucas hunt down and destroy OT Anakin. He betrayed and replaced him.

The dude in the video I linked read the script too (he's the co-creator of "Honest Trailers"). He says he got scooped by the other guy, but they both share similar takeaways from having read it.

No matter what, it was just a first draft script that was later revised after Carrie's death. LFL actually brought in someone else to help get a workable film script, but KK ultimately decided to switch to JJ instead.

When JJ and Terrio say that they started completely from scratch, they're both full of ****. There's not a lot of carryover from the Trevorrow story, but those two were definitely aping some stuff from it.

Colin had some interesting ideas but I wouldn't have wanted another space battle above Coruscant or more Rose preaching about how evil rich people are. Things like that would have brought the film down way worse than a silly dagger or snake.

I like that TROS was a simple return to pure entertainment with a message (instead of a lecture) of "we can win if we stick together" that was both poignant and fun.

And no way would I have wanted Kylo and Rey fighting alone on Mortis over Palps and Exegol. That said I'm not surprised that a good number of people seem to prefer Trevorrow's version.

Well there you go by Luke calling Ben out by his name it proves he was trying to keep the Palpatine secret from Rey lol

PTers now have the ST, like OTers had the PT. What goes around, comes around...

One day, strange cyborg people from the future will be defending the ST against the FT.

lulz

A Rey v Kylo battle as the only main conflict to resolve = ZzzZzz

How does that even tie all 9 together, it doesn?t.

She really would?ve just been a nobod....Zzz Zzz

The cut we got had

1. THREE Rey v Kylo battles two super epic
2. Kylo v KOR
3. Rey v Imperial Guards
4. Rey and Kylo v Emperor
5. Rey v Emperor

Who the hell doesn?t like the freaking Emperor!
