Yup I've said it before. AOTC is a fine film and holds its own just fine. So many things to like.
I'd rather watch AOTC than TFA or TLJ any day.

Did you just say AOTC is a fine film in public.

Indecent exposure is a felony you know lol

I always thought it was an improvement on TPM and was surprised so many disagreed.

I understand people not liking the dialogue but much of it is meant to be regal/Shakespearean/timeless.

Shakespear.......

giphy.gif

Anakin creepy staring is hilarious in that movie

I guess the reduction in JarJar could be considered an improvement over TPM.

Portman was even sexier another improvement over TPM.

Then Yoda showed up on crack lol

Shakespeare not only turned in his grave when you typed that, he rose up and is currently googling your home address.:lol

AOTC won the Golden Raspberry for Worst Screenplay of the year (among the seven nominations AOTC received in 2003, most of any film) so I'm pretty certain they nailed the "timeless" aspect - not sure it'll be forgotten any time soon.:rotfl

Yeah, there is a ton of great SW music in ROTJ. The prelude to the ROTJ space battle is my favorite music of the whole OT, partly because it's not so overexposed and emulated like the SW main theme and Imperial March is. Even "Parade of Ewoks" is a nice piece.

The security guard's standing at Khev's desk as he packs his stuff, ready to escort him from the OT building.:lol

lol @ googling his address.

Yes POE is a fun song but bringing it back to AOTC the ROTJ Forest Battle song is also spectacular and effectively used for the AOTC trailer which totally made that trailer famously epic and memorable to this very day.

That song has such an epic build up to its finale so much so that it even made AOTC dialogue in the trailer seem epic lol

Hey, Palps' one-eyed willy is what (indirectly and unintentionally) brought balance to the force in the end, so I don't mind that connection.:dunno

For this to have any validity one has to accept that The Emperor being in the film is valid, which I do not. He died on screen in 1983. The whole damn ST story is retcon and appropriation.

If Yoda, Kenobi and Anakin can return after death I don?t see why Palpatine can not.

That?s why Anakin chosen one achievement shouldn?t last forever in a universe where the dead come back including Anakin himself!

The whole fall of Anakin plot in the PT was tied to resurrecting the dead yet fans get pissed that Palpatine was resurrected following the plot that fans so much love about the PT.

Make up your minds you can?t love ROTS and Anakin being the chosen one but then hate Palpatine return in TROS.

Christ Darth Maul was cut in half and fell how many feet YET fans love his resurrection in that Clone Wars cartoon crap lol

But Palpatine coming back ohhhhh no we can?t have that.

It was only the entire plot tied to Anakins fall!

First off, I don't love or even like the PT. I don't hate it like the ST because it didn't smear and ruin the OT.

That out of the way, Yoda/Kenobi/Anakin were ghosts. You should understand the difference.

I'll also add that ghosts were ruined in the ST too when they started physically/tangibly interacting.

I was about to say. He does realize they were ghost right? Not some stupid zombie man. I guess defending such crap films made them forget the lore of Star Wars lol

No it wasn?t. Anakin wanted to PREVENT people from dying not bring them back. So no it still doesn?t make sense it?ll never make sense and you know it deep down. Also darth maul wasn?t resurrected cause he didn?t die.

We saw the emporer fall then it looked he got blown up and then the Death Star was blown up. But now he?s back. That makes sense to you? K

Ghost my ass Yoda brought down lightning, Luke passed over a dice and caught a lightsaber.

What, did Kenobi position his body to make believe he was sitting on a rock lol

But whatever because Palpatine consciousnesses passing into a clone host via dark science is not harder for me to accept than ghosts.

Guess what prevent people from dying is the same as a person resurrecting they were prevented from dying by continuing on with their existence.

Actually, Anakin's fall was because there was *not* a way to bring back the dead. Just like ironwez points out, what Anakin really wanted was to keep Padme from dying in the first place. People keep twisting that opera scene between Palps and Anakin into something that it wasn't.

The Plagueis story was told to Anakin as part of an elaborate scheme of deception to lure him to the dark side. He told Anakin that "Darth Plagueis the Wise" could keep the ones he cared about from dying. Think about that: dark lord of the Sith *caring* for others? Not likely. And if keeping others from dying meant knowledge of self-resurrection, there'd be no point to murdering Plagueis since he'd just bring himself back.

And none of this even lines up with what happens in TROS. Making a cloned body to house his spirit? But the cloned body wasn't able to contain his power? Great planning. :lol So he still needed Rey to kill his clone so he could just move into her body? Then regenerating himself by sucking "life force" out of a "Force dyad" instead? What kind of horse**** is all this?

The PT was made to add more gravity to both Anakin's fall *and* redemption. Killing Palpatine (for good) is an obvious part of that. C'mon jye, you know that this stupid movie isn't worth contorting GL's intent in order to make it work. Why bother?

Yeah force ghosts did do some really ridiculously stupid stuff...in the sequel trilogy.

And don't even try to compare ghosts to zombie Palpatine, his intact throne room, and fleet of fully weaponized Star Destroyers. :slap

Apparently the novel also explains that Rey salvaged components from her burnt-out TIE to get Luke?s X-wing going again. ?It flies now!?

Shoot I actually think that that would have been a really good scene in the movie as it would have made her scavenger skills integral to the grand finale. All they would have had to do was a quick little A-Team montage of her stripping some TIE components, twisting some bolts, attaching some wires, and then cut to the engines firing up. Hell it would have even paralleled Anakin getting the pod racer working for people who wanted that.

Then have her lift off, salute Luke's ghost and have him nod in approval closing the circle of when he flew off against his master's wishes so long ago.

Except people got upset at the fact yoda brought down lightning. And no it?s not the same. Preventing is saving a person before there actual death occurred. Anakin saw the death of padme and wanted to save her so she didn?t. Come on bruh you slippin. All this ST mental gymnastics is making you forget basic stuff. I?m not even a OT fanboy and I know that the ghost in the OT only came when you needed guidance, they couldn?t fight.

If they could why not go full on return of the king mode and use them to fight the first order. Problem solved. Come on buddy. You and khev lose this battle each day lol

Yep George himself stated that the Jedi Spirits were actually personified manifestations of the Force itself and last I checked the Force is capable of manipulating physical objects.

Why would Yoda have carried on about being luminous beings if that state was *less* powerful than "crude matter?"

Nope she was personally trained by Leia for multiple years between TLJ and TROS.

Nope. She was already trained from force downloading her powers and the BS Disney line of believing in the force.

Let’s see, she knows mind tricks. Beat Kylo. Fights those guards. Lifts like a 100 rocks easily, something we never even saw Yoda do. Why does she even need training? And that’s a joke too, because Leia “abandoned” her Jedi training.

So, Rey has never been fully trained yet 10x better than Luke ever was. It’s a joke.

“cannot interfere” trumps all of this.

Yoda and Kenobi would have helped Luke defeat the Emperor if they could have.
