I liked AOTC :dunno

you can tell me the clones & jedi dropping into the arena wasn't sweet

Yes I can. It wasnt. It was boring. Jango Fett was the only cool part about that movie, and he got killed so fast. Such a waste. :monkey4

Ah. I would disagree with him then.

The guy had talent. He does have great ideas. But no director should have total control. Even the best. They need someone to say "Wait a minute...wait wait....that's stupid".

Well, thats fine. I mean i cant tell you what to think. Nor can i, or will i hate ya for having a different opinion. Unlike some people around here :lol

Regarding the AOTC arena battle Jango Fett discussion...

I really wanted to see Mace Windu close his eyes and charge Jango Fett blind and still manage to block all his blaster bolts and taking off his head. Would have brought more meaning to the phrase "Your eyes can deceive you, don't trust them" during Kenobi's lightsaber training to Luke. Just would have been nice to finally see it work successfully in battle and against a worthy adversary.

Well, that's an interesting point. It would have been possible if Jango Fett was his only concern, but Mace Windu had a whole arena of opponents to be aware of. He needed to see the rest out of his peripheral vision. Sure, Luke blocked the blaster bolts of the trainer blind, but that's all he had to worry about.

:lol what?

Look Irvin Kershner did a great job of directing Empire, but Lucas is responsible for most of the creativity, give or take some great flourishes by Kershner.

Lucas personal picked Kershner for the role and together they made the best film ever. Unfortunately Kershner then went on to make Robocop 2, which is one of the worst films I have ever seen.

I think Lucas had less to do about the successes of the first ones. But I think a fan growing up and loving these characters and movies, has more credit now than a guy who clearly is all about the money and marketing aspect of this franchise rather than the quality of the films.

And Lucas then went to direct one of the worst movies of all time, Attack of the Clones...so what? :dunno

Let's just agree to disagree.
AOTC is actually my favorite of the prequels.

What are "bad" movies to some are good ones to others. For example, that other Jake Lloyd movie featured in your current signature...now to me, that's a bad movie...but to each their own.

Oh...how about that Blu-ray annoncement, eh? Pretty exciting, huh? :lol

These forums are good at illustrating one thing...

...that each of our opinions mean squat to someone else.

Just cause you think it, doesn't make it so.

Also, as far as the George Lucas being untalented goes, if that were true, than we wouldnt be discussing it, as Star Wars would not have mattered. GL is better at the broad brush strokes (ideas) and not so good at the fine details.

I also think GL now and GL 30 years ago are 2 different people, in a sense. 34 years ago he was full of ideas and creativity and willing to listen to others. Today he is a businessman, and businessmen usually make lousy storytellers.

Appreciate the movies (and the Man) for what they are, for better or worse, he changed film and our childhoods. The prequels may have been a letdown for many people, but they should have no real impact on how much you enjoyed the originals years ago. And even if you don't want to admit it, he managed to speak to a new generation with his prequels, it just maybe was in a language many of us don't understand.

And for the record, AOTC was atrocious, but that's just my opinion and really should not mean much to any of you.

Careful saying you like any of the PT stuff guys, you wouldn't want the all knowing CelticP and StarKiller to tell you what a bunch of idiots you are. Bottom line is, you can hate the PT all you want. I happen to like them just fine, especially ROTS. You call yourself a real fan and I say I am like PT and tons of things from the EU. So you have fun watching 3 movies and I'll enjoy watching 6, the Clone Wars series, and digging up lots of great stories from the EU either through games like the TFU and KOTOR or by reading some of the cool comics and novels out there. That's the end of it......now i'm done!
