Definitely. And why not change Guiness to MacGregor for continuity? I prefer Alec Guiness, but it makes no sense to have Anakin the way he was from the PT with Obi Wan from the OT.

:exactly:

It shouldn't matter when Anakin went to the DS, he died an old man and that's what his ghost should be, the old man, especially since he died on the LS of the Force.

Yoda's ghost was old Yoda.

Kenobi's ghost was old Kenobi.

Young Anakin as a ghost makes no sense. :gah:

Well shoot now I'd dying to see the IMAX cut of AOTC! The deleted scenes of TESB show that if that movie was 10 minutes longer it might have meant incredibly awkward extra dialogue from Han and Leia (in more than one scene) and Snowtroopers looking like keystone cops. It would have changed the tone and "perfection" of the entire movie. I wonder how much better AOTC would be with a much faster pace and minimal Anakin/Padme dialogue.

Man, I'd love to see the IMAX cut of AOTC... if anything just being 20 minutes shorter would be awesome :lol

It's an awesome cut of the movie.
Did you end up buying this/keeping this, J?

Whatchutlakin'boutFlosi?

Anakin shouldn't have a ghost at all really---Since that was something that Qui-Gon passed down to Yoda and Obi-Wan. It was kind of meant to be as like since Anakin was good at the end that he came back as a ghost, but realistically he wouldn't have known how to do that.

The big GL (or more likely FOX) basically removed EVERY Youtube clip of the deleted scenes. There's a few still on there but all the unreleased ones are gone.

To me, old Anakin with his scars vanished and all of his limbs and hair grown back makes no sense, either. I think it might make just as much (if not more) sense for his force ghost to appear restored to his prime as it would to see him appear in a form that never existed at any point in life. If a force ghost can appear in an idealized form that does not correspond to the physical condition of the body at death, then age becomes less of a sticking point for me. If we agree that the force ghost doesn't have to look like the person's corpse, then deciding how it should look is naturally open to a certain degree of interpretation.

This is pretty cool..showing the 3 differences.

The shoddiness of Han stepping over Jabba's tail still cracks me up. It looks like he's riding an escalator. :lol

:lol That Boba thing is so ridiculous!

And I hadn't seen that scene in a while--Han stepping on Jabba's tail looks terrible! Like low budget, poor quality kind of terrible. Bad job, ILM!

Very well put. But it's still jarring for an audience to have to create that kind of logic on the fly. Of course once you're dead you're going to say. "I don't have to look decrepit? Then hell yeah let me look like I did in my 20s!" And that would have been fine if only Obi and Yoda did the same thing. If all three appeared as their 20 year old selves as ghosts, the audience would still be in the scene. And when they were all old (as in the unaltered ROTJ), the audience was still in the scene. But with Anakin being the odd one out, you instantly take someone out of the movie and make them go through that whole justification in their minds instead of letting the scene play out.
