yup 100% agree. Actually i forgot TFA was PG13 i think because a friend of mine who has a 6 year old son doesn't want him to see RO yet, but they had no problem with TFA.TFA was made for families to share the SW experience together... they made a very good movie and attempted to please alot of different audiences. as they should, they are trying to make money here, and start off a new Trilogy.
RO was made for the hardcore fans, it was made for people who really LOVE SW and wanted a film more adult in nature> Disney understands this well, and gave the older fans what they wanted in RO. It addressed most of the fan base's complaints with TFA. Again, I keep coming back to this, MOST people going to see RO, who are not SW fan from the start, have no idea what the hell is going on, they only know the original characters and have no idea who Tarkin is, or when this film even takes place. The only get excited when they see Vader and Leia......everything else is just explosions and cool battles......
My kids love BOTH films, not much criticism from them, but the definitely like TFA much more.....They like the new characters more, even though they grew up in a Star Wars infused house. The both freaked when Han died, but they also cheered when Rey found the force. The loved the Vader scene in RO's but also felt really sad about the cast dying.
My feeling here is Star Wars fans have gotten WAY to focused on what the "perfect" SW film should be instead of enjoying what we have. BOTH these films are great fun and well made (which cannot be said of previous SW films).
Get to nit picky and you forget to sit back, and enjoy our favorite universe's expansion......
Hard to see Kylo topping Vader's scene in RO. Maybe they will have Kylo take out Chewie in the opening scene...
IDK, it's gonna be dark. I'd like to see Luke v Kylo.
That would be a great lightsaber battle. Also- I'd like to see Kylo go ape **** on rebels rather than his gaming room.
yup, there is going to be an epic lightsaber/the force battle at some point.
I wonder how powerful luke is now? I mean he had some training, but I feel like a 30 years of channeling the force may make him pretty strong. (especially since he's the last Jedi).

Very well said. Watching the continuation of Return of the Jedi with my kids was one of the greatest theatrical experiences of my life. Nothing will ever take that away. I do feel that Rogue One does magnify some of TFA's flaws but not in a way that invalidates its entertainment value or nostalgic family experience.
It is interesting that after working so hard to give a new generation their own villain to latch onto (Kylo Ren) that less than a year after TFA is released LFL allowed Vader himself to come storming back and absolutely outshine their new prodigy in every way. I loved Adam Driver's characterization but even I am a little worried that he can only suffer by comparison from here on out.
I hope they show how Kylo destroyed Luke's Jedi school too.

Kylo Ren worries about that too.
Indeed.
"bless me grandfather, for i have sinned."
seriously, dude is a nutcase.
I like him, despite the fact he got his ass kicked in his first appearance and he looks and sounds like Napoleon Dynamite. I think he has the potential to be the next Loki considering he's a conflicted guy in the first film, but he needs to be more of threat in the sequel and maybe skip the mask, and grow some facial hair or something.
Then again, if you watch the SW saga in chronological order, Vader gets his ass kicked a lot and he's very much like Kylo Ren...so maybe Kylo will become less human and les whiny with each new film.
