Re: Star Wars: Episode VII (12/18/15) Discussion Thread

Disney CEO says Star Wars will follow the Marvel mold on its road to success.

He said look at Avengers.

:lol

"EP9 - the team are finally back together!!"

Padme, Leia, Anakin, Luke, Sir Alec-Wan & Ob-Ewan, Han & Mutt Solo - look out galaxy - look out continuity!!

I've got a bad feeling about this!!!! :yess: :yess: :yess:

:lol

Re: Star Wars: Episode VII (12/18/15) Discussion Thread

That isn't news. Star Wars will be the central franchise movie (ala Avengers) with other projects released around it centering on one specific character.

:exactly: It doesn't take a rocket scientist to see how that'll work. :goodpost:

Well, WB still thinks its a secret. :rotfl

Re: Star Wars: Episode VII (12/18/15) Discussion Thread

That doesn't actually make sense as far as Star Wars is concerned.

makes perfect sense.

Stand alone character driven side stories, and individual episodes released every few years.

Either that or they stare at the formula like it was one of Einstein's theories. :lol

That's giving them too much credit.

Warner Brothers is behaving like an Ant contemplating a work of plato.

no matter how hard they try, they just don't get it.

Loose the drab colors, and embrace comic-bookeyness.

Focus on character and plot development. don't rely so heavy on baysplosions.

Re: Star Wars: Episode VII (12/18/15) Discussion Thread

For Star Wars I don't think movies focused on a single character would work the same as superhero characters. And I really really don't want a Yoda movie as has been rumored. That would be the worst.

Yoda: Origins

Aside from the Superman/Batman/WW project WB is doing Harry Potter spin-offs, so the mega-franchise formula is being copied.

I predict within 5 years there will be an actually new Harry Potter under development as well.

A few days ago Fox announced the X-Men will crossover with the new Fantastic Four series.

EDIT: Forgot to mention Paramount's new Jack Ryan film will also be the start of a shared film universe with a series of John Clark films, featuring the same pool of characters and actors playing them.

I want a movie based on the plot of the Yoda Stories game.

You might be on to something. They own the rights to Indiana Jones now, don't they? Remember that secret hidden area of one level where you come face to face with Indiana Jones?!

Of course in Episode VIII, they could have Han Solo and Chewie go through a wormhole to Earth and crash the Falcon. Han can die a glorious death and some crazy Pacific North Westerners find Chewie and think they found Bigfoot. Indiana Jones can go and investigate and save Chewie from those crackpots and Chewie owes Indy a life debt.

Yup. I love the idea of a cinematic film universe for Star Wars :hi5: :panic:

Everything is going to crossover and become a super franchise at some point in the future...

Re: Star Wars: Episode VII (12/18/15) Discussion Thread

Wow, where's that from?

Star Wars Tales, that noncanon alternate universe comic series from the late 90s or early 00s. Pretty cool idea actually :lol

it's also teh same series where tag and Bink, Manny Both-Hands, R5 the jedi droid, and Mecha-Maul are from.

some WEEEEIRD stuff in those. but most of it is pretty good for a laugh.
