There was a whole arch in the novels where she came VERY close, because she is such an emotional person. Her love for han, Her love for her children, etc, pushing her emotions VERY VERY close to going over. But at the same time, she is such a strong-willed person that she is able to prevent herself from ever falling completely to the dark side.
Though she's very much the "Jolie Bindo" ( KOTOR Reference) of the EU novels. what you might call a "gray Jedi".

Luke eventualy comes to the conclusion that he can't train her, BECUASE she's family. He's being too leniant on her. He hands her over to someone who will not be so nice when she fails, and understands coping with rage. Her mentor is one of my favorite EU jedi. Saba Sebatyne.

Given she's the only person in the SW universe who can hit anything with a blaster, I can only imagine how horrifying she'd be with a lightsaber. :panic:

Yeah, I never followed anything unless it was on screen, TV, or had lots of pictures. I think it would just be a shocker having her betray the others. Gotta admit, I'm getting pretty excited about the thought of seeing these people on screen together again.

I feel that way since the announcement Disney bought Star wars .. the big three were a must in the new movies for me from the get go.. 2 long years ahead

I wonder what exactly the plan is for Mark and Harrison and Carrie.

I know the rumor is they will have larger roles in the 1st and than kinda slowly fade into more of background characters, but I wonder just how far they'll fade or if they'll die on screen or what. I mean Harrisons 71 or 2? Are they taking into account that by the time the 3rd roles around he's going to be like 80? I imagine he'll be doing even less stunts than.

Re: Star Wars: Episode VII (12/18/15) Discussion Thread

I've only seen the movies so I'm not too up on Star Wars lore, but I wanted to ask the experts:

Was there ever any of Annakin Skywalker's backstory in any of the novels, comics, games etc., that was written before GL did the prequels?

I was just curious.

Yeah. The novelization for RotJ mentions Anakin having flashbacks to when he was a cocky young Jedi. Also the prelude chapter in the original SW novelization mentions a bit about the corruption of the galactic senate and the emperor's rise to power.

Plus a lot of what would ultimately become the PT, was written around the same time as Star Wars (A New Hope).

Makes you wonder why anyone would hire Boba Fett when he and his clones couldn't hit a barn door with a banjo :slap

Neither could Chewie or Han (with the exception of Greedo - who was sitting directly in front of him). :lol

:nono

Han had so many lightning fast direct hits on Vader in Cloud City that the cocky Dark Lord had to raise his other hand to deflect some of the shots. Not to mention the Sarlacc tentacle while blind, tagging random troopers in the face on Endor, etc. Han was the MAN.

How quick you forget ANH. And Vader falls in the same category as Greedo. :nono

vader was still close like freedom and I'm pretty sure he changed hands just as a flourish. He did do all those cocky blade spins as a young man after all.

That was a lucky shot.... if he wasn't blind he'd have shot Lando's leg off :lol
