Re: Star Wars: Episode VII (12/18/15) Discussion Thread

I could get behind that. The opera scene is freaking amazing. I like the idea of abolishing the Rule of Two which I always thought was rather moronic. Having Ian McDiarmid return as a Sith Spectre and thought to be the main villain only to find out it's actually Plagueis would work extremely well in my mind. I don't even care that it's referencing the prequels. The Tale of Darth Plagueis the Wise is a powerful scene. It even almost makes Midichlorines acceptable. Almost. I don't think the essence of the Force needs a name or scientific explanation. But manipulating the Force to create and preserve life indeed proves Vader's quip about the ability to destroying a planet being insignificant next to the power of the Force.

The "Big Bad" is an important aspect to nail to make this trilogy successful but it's not the only necessity. I thought Palpatine was brilliant in the prequels but his agents of evil were underdeveloped and mostly forgettable compared to Vader. Having two Big Bads in opposition to one another (Plagueis vs Palpatine) would be a new dynamic to the saga and could prove interesting.

100% in for Plagueis and Palps. Makes sense of The Ancient Fear title thats floating around also.

Re: Star Wars: Episode VII (12/18/15) Discussion Thread

The PT unfortunately are canon so I guess this works to connect all the films rather than these seeming tacked on.

Re: Star Wars: Episode VII (12/18/15) Discussion Thread

I like the idea of Plagueis being the man behind the curtain. I love the Opera scene, and this would give it a lot of meaning.

Re: Star Wars: Episode VII (12/18/15) Discussion Thread

I think it would be awesome if the whole time through all 6 movies there was a hidden presence that was never reviled. Like Plagueis or someone else was behind the ordering of the clones, the one who planned the creation of the Death Star, maybe even a clone of Palatine that was the initial test to insure the clone army could be feasible. I don't know if rehashing the same old Emperor would be a good idea, I just want another WTF moment like Vader being Lukes father. I never liked the idea of the " Jesus" creation of Anakin would be awesome if he did have a father and his mother never wanted him to know because he was such an Evil bastard.

Re: Star Wars: Episode VII (12/18/15) Discussion Thread

I think that what's being hinted at is that Anakin was actually created by Plagueis... That would be quite a WTF moment...

"Vader never told you who his father was? did he?"
Plagueis: "Luke, I am your grandfather..."

:lol

I don't ever want them mentioned again, but if they do come up they could be explained like a moth that's attracted to flame. Midichlorines are not the cause of the Force, they are an indicator. They are drawn to Force sensitive individuals. The brighter the flame, the more moths.

It's a retcon but it's more palpable than what they sold in Ep. 1.

Plagueis:
"Vader never told you who his father was? did he?
... Luke, I am your grandfather."

Why aren't you Rick Berman.... err, McCallum? That description works for me.

Re: Star Wars: Episode VII (12/18/15) Discussion Thread

It will never end..
:lol

I guess it's a way of extending "the skywalker saga" as Lucas has been rabbiting on about for years now, Star Wars (the main movies) are about the family.
It's probably going to feature a face off between Luke and his ancestral evil "creator", he was half created effectively by the sith.
If these rumours have any truth.

Re: Star Wars: Episode VII (12/18/15) Discussion Thread

I think Padme and OB1 had an affair and Luke is really OB1's son . Padme wasn't sure who's babies she had because she is a whore

Re: Star Wars: Episode VII (12/18/15) Discussion Thread

Plagueis created Anakin? I thought Palpatine did?

Re: Star Wars: Episode VII (12/18/15) Discussion Thread

Re: Star Wars: Episode VII (12/18/15) Discussion Thread

I Artificial inseminated R2D2 right in his dome hole. Now we will have babies and rule the galaxy, as father and son

Well that's whys she told Qui-Gon.
The original script was "who was the father?"
"I have no idea, I was a deathstick hooker, there were so many".

But Lucas changed it before The Phantom Menace was released.
