I remember when Phantom Menace was toted as the best Stah Wahs movie evar. Then it premiered.

Same with Sith. "Oh man, dis gonna be better than ESB, Plus it's gonna be PG-13 too!!!" The we know how it turned out.

This movie will not suck and you know why? It's because this movie is the most important SW film to Disney. This is a company that makes people flock to the theaters to see Frozen or any of those Pixar films. Disney is not Lucas. They know how to market...sell and make people fall in love with their product because unlike Lucas they do these films for the fans and know how to tug on those heart strings with a formula they have mastered and successfully have executed over and over amd over again. They may screw up future SW films but this first one...no way. They have everything riding on this one. They paid 4.5 Billion dollars for ths franchise and if the first one tanks they are screwed. Oh no...Episode 7 will be the best movie made since the originals. Beyond that time will tell.

Disney's not infallible. They pump out stinkers like Cars 2 every once in awhile. And frankly, JJ didn't blow me away with Star Trek 2. But chances are this movie will be good.

Or indeed Cars 1. That was a snoozefest as I recall.
And yeah, STID was an infuriating movie.

Even Pixar makes stinkers now.

As bad as the Cars movies are, I think it was more a shrewd business move than artistic attempt. The studio makes more off the Cars license than it probably does on all the other Pixar merchandise combined. As of the release of Cars 2, the license had earned over 10 billion in sales, compare that to the 2.8 billion Toy Story 3 generated in merchandise sales. So, big profits like that can go a long way to making great Pixar movies like Up and Wall-E possible, movies that earn very little in the way of toy sales. So, as much as I hate Pixar's track record blemished by the Cars movies, I try and look at it as making other movies possible.

I'm not saying Disney makes classics everytime. I'm saying they know how to market and sell their product. You can blame Disney for some Pixar movies but technically that's Pixar. However what I am saying is push comes to shove...Disney knows the right buttons to push to make people fall in love with their movies. I mean to this day I don't get the whole Frozen phenomenon but yet people line up for hours now at the Disney parks just to get a chance to see a character from that film. I am not saying that everything they touch is automatically gold but they sure know how to do it better then Lucas. So I like my chances with SW being in their hands then Lucas.

..ahem... Tron Legacy ..cough.
Franchises like Tron or Carter is not something to compare with SW. They didn't pay 4.5 Billion dollars to own the rights to those films. I actually liked Tron Legacy and as far as Carter...people can say it flopped but look at the numbers world wide. The film made millions and still brought the money home to Mickey. SW is a different animal and I feel that in Disney's hands it will get the white glove treatment and they handle it well like what they are doing with Marvel. I don't expect SW to be a home run everytime but from a business stand point...Episode 7 is the most important film to be good for them to continue to ride the SW gravy train. I believe that this will be the case. What happens after that? Who knows. But I don't worry about SW because of a sucky Tron sequel that is no where near as important.

If not for that great song Frozen would've been a dud.

Billion off a cheap cartoon.

Disney needs to become a private military corporation.

Then again, why make money from wars when you can just profit from cartoons.
