Agreed. Not a huge fan of the prequels but the notion that it was one giant greenscreen is false, and getting quite old.
The films were so overdone in post-processing that the practical effects ended up looking fake on screen (much like Crystal Skull).

Great behind the scenes footage.
They are really keeping Luke, Snoke, Maz kanata and a few others close to their chest.
Watching the full panel I could see Adam Driver either felt like he didn't want to be there or he felt uneasy due to the questions re:kylo ren.

This movie looks unreal!

Oh don't get me wrong, I think the movie looks great so far. I'm just not a fan of the new Disneyfied Lucasfilm media PR brigade.
It's smarmy and a bit condescending.

The one thing I haven't seen yet from the film is any epic operatic stuff. Star Wars type shots. Remember seeing Duel of the fates? Battle of the heroes? The celebration clips from Sith? This feels more Star Trek Abhrams.

Leia fears diminishing.

Amazing how the OT can cut thru even the most cynical and make them believe again, even if just a little.

Also amazing the penetration.

My brother doesn't own 1 movie, hasn't been to the movie theater in 16 years.

He stopped what he was doing to watch Ford at SDCC and said wow.

Take that Batman.

Watching the panel now. Enjoying the anticipation before this Winter's first SW experience.

I think this is going for the record

Watching the comic con panel, Harrison Ford is quite possibly the smoothest mother****er i've even seen.

Looking at Domhnall Gleeson with his beard, I had a weird idea pop into my head -- if they WERE to re-do the prequels, he would make a pretty good young Obi-Wan...

This is our last Hope to unseat Titanic and... maybe even Avatar.

No way it will- usually the new champion film will come out of NOWHERE ..as Titanic(predicted to be the biggest flop due to biggest budget) and Avatar(Cameron topping his own film? No one believed that...fairy tale stuff)

The panel was great. I am staying silent for the most part on The Force Awakens because I'm trying not to analyze too much about it and let it either be good or bad, but seeing the original cast together gave me goose bumps. Carrie, Mark and Harrison all look great for their age. Honestly, besides the fact I think Abrams is the right choice for a director to bring Star Wars back, I am just glad that Lawrence Kasdan is writing it. His work can never be praised enough, especially on Empire and Raiders. Having him be sort of a guide for the new stories makes me have faith that these will be stories worth telling and not just a cash cow for Disney.

You're absolutely right because after this the market will be over satuated with SW movies.

Usually the first and last does the best. But I do agree that SW will be tired by the time the final chapter of the ST is told.

I agree. And stated that previously. BUT... if any franchise behemoth has a chance, it's likely the new Disney Star Wars with two years of hype building and 30+ years of waiting to see the old crew back at it again.

If any Star Wars film is going to bring them out in droves, it's this one.
