Lucas' greatest effect from the OT has to be cloning the Rancor monster from bits of Dinosaur and frog DNA, truly an amazing feat and without it Spielberg could never have made Jurassic Park and there'd never have been a Godzilla or King Kong. :lecture :lol

would you kindly direct me to this article or whatnot? I've seen zero indication and that has me curious

What, the Lucas bashing?
It's everywhere, every single time they say something about the new movie, they're gushing about how this is going back to the original magic, and how practical effects are back, etc etc.

:rotfl:rotfl:rotfl:rotfl

I love you!

*no gay*

:lol

*real stormtroopers though lads, well, ok quack-troopers*
*just two though, who says they wouldn't add more via CGI later on*
*I'll just wait for Rory to crush your jokingly inaccurate assumption.*
...like these?

A-dev is right of course, no actual troopers were harmed in the filming of the prequel trilogy. They had a good (but misguided) reason though. Lucas wanted to show thousands of the ****ers and it seemed impractical to match real with fake at the time.
That was a mistake, but for it's time well.. understandable.

I kind of understand what he is saying. Abrams was at sdcc saying how crazy this all is and never said anything about Lucas and how all of this is because of him. If you look at the producer and Abrams as Kasdan mentions Lucas they look a bit uncomfortable. Lucas said they never consulted him on anything in these sequels. They took his ideas and trashed them. It sounds to me that Disney made promises of keeping George in the loop with everything and doing his version of Star Wars to get him to sign it all over. Now that they have it Disney is doing things their way, to heck with Lucas.

We have to thank GL for all Star Wars.... but its good he is out.. he took it to a path were the original SW fans could not follow him anymore..

Finally saw the SDCC panel. The actors seemed fine. Ford was about the same as I've seen him in interviews since the 70s, and the rest of the actors were game if a little taken aback and/or awed by the super-fans. Carrie Fisher...draws endless fire but she was okay, too. Not sure what more we could expect from working actors getting blasted by the scrutiny and adulation of Star Wars super-fans.
