*real stormtroopers though lads, well, ok quack-troopers*

*just two though, who says they wouldn't add more via CGI later on*

*cough*still two more real troopers than Lucas had in the prequels*cough*

*I'll just wait for Rory to crush your jokingly inaccurate assumption.*

I don't know why this movie requires CGI, its only set in space.

Find it absolutely fascinating that they get the cameras in space. Must cos millions using NASA rockets.

Yeah, remember when Lucas went outer space back in the 70's to shoot Star Wars.

If only we had 1970's technology today :lol

I must admit I'm amazed as to the amount of Lucas/PT bashing coming from the Abrams team.
It's not only disrespectful of the man who frigging invented the whole thing, it's just plain stupid.

That's what has me cringing a bit. I didn't actually disagree with Rorywan's post earlier, merely pointed out that troopers in TFA are real where none of them were in the PT according to Wikipedia which in turn cites DVD commentaries as a source.

https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Clone_trooper

No physical clone trooper costume was produced for their first onscreen appearance. As revealed in the audio commentary of Star Wars Episode II: Attack of the Clones, every single clone trooper in the film is a computer generated image. In fact, the only thing present on the set was the actor, whose head was used during scenes requiring a clone's face.

In Star Wars Episode III: Revenge of the Sith, the armor is redesigned to look more like the Stormtrooper armor, but remains computer generated

But going back to your point abake, yes, I'm surprised at how vocal they have been in implicitly denouncing how the prequels were made (or perceived to have been made) without actually saying it out straight (or have they? because that would be even more surprising) How must Lucas feel about it all.

After how shytty the prequels were you kinda gotta say something. Otherwise it would be like ignoring the 800lb elephant in the room. I think they were at least tactful in how they are handling it, instead of coming outright and saying "yeah they sucked ballz this is how we gonna do". And i gotta say i can't blame em!

And people forget that the Phantom Menace is a great blend of practical effects and CGI. There are probably more practical effects, creatures and sets in Episode I than Force Awakens. Did that blend help people's opinion of the Phantam Menace? Not really.

Also, while I appreciate the craftsmanship, none of the new creatures I'm seeing feel "Star Warsy" too me, especially that hunchback camel thing that came on stage for the SDCC panel.

Well actually *raises hand*

TPM is still a great attempt at recapturing the rollercoaster ride of the old films, & I'll always enjoy it for it's strong points.

The other two just aren't re-watchable. You really could make II & III one movie, especially after you remove all the ****. :lol

would you kindly direct me to this article or whatnot? I've seen zero indication and that has me curious
