I just thought Sifo Dyas was Palpatine stammering for a good cover name while on the phone placing the order:

My Name? Uh, Sidious.... Sid... Si... Si... Sifo.... Dyas. Yeah, that's it. Master Sifo Dyas.

Midiclorians would have been less offensive if they hadn't been a cause but an effect. It would have gone over better if Midiclorians didn't cause a Jedi to have the Force but instead they are attracted to it, like a moth to a light. They would still be an indicator but not the propegator of one's potential as a Force sensitive.

Yep....

Great point.

Maybe a Jedi trying to hide his powers from the Emporer would be subjected to the midichlorian test.

Just like in The Thing with the blood test, the heat causing a reaction.

Regardless, PT still crap made by yes men and women. :lol

A cartoon says otherwise. :lol

No you're right. Your own personal head cannon is far more legitimate than the foundation which Disney will be building their Empire on. Silly me.

Someone get me Kathleen Kennedy's email. jye doesn't think Clone Wars should be cannon! :panic:

Midichlorians were invented so all the Han Solo fanboys couldn't get their fantasy of Han becoming an even more powerful Jedi than Luke :lecture :lol

Before ROTJ was released it was a coin toss who Yoda's "other" was, Leia or Han. The argument was Han's skill as a pilot, marksmanship with a blaster, his "luck" were all signs be had abilities with the Force waiting to be more fully developed.

What? Coin toss? Everyone I knew was certain Leia was clearly "the other" -- not only because she heard Luke's call for help hanging from the antennae... but because they were brother and sister. There was never any doubt or coin toss needed.

Midi-Chlorians were the absolute stupidest thing in the prequels, in the whole Star Wars universe. And that includes Jar-Jar and the Christmas special. Actually the only thing stupider that I can think of is throwing a pass from the 1 yard line in the Superbowl when you have Marshawn Lynch in the backfield.

At first I hated midichlorians but I grew to accept them. If The Force runs in families there has to be a scientific explanation, even if we don't wanna hear it. Science and religion can coexist, and it makes sense the Jedi would use any means available to identify potential padawans.

Nobody knew Leia was his sister until Jedi came out. It was a big clue that Leia heard his call for help, but it was Luke with the fancy powers. Could he do that same trick with anyone else? Back in 1980 nobody knew.

It was so obvious Leia was his sister as soon as Leia chose Han instead of Luke sexually -- plus both in white, plus both names start with "L". Deductive reasoning.

I truly don't remember anyone thinking it was Han Solo that was "the other", despite the fact that it wasn't officially revealed that Luke and Leia were related. You can't say back in 1980 NOBODY knew -- because I was there and I did.

That was one of the disappointments of "Jedi" -- Luke and Leia being brother and sister came as no great surprise to anyone I knew.

Funny thing, when I saw Empire I had totally missed the "other" line. So I had no idea what anybody was talking about at first, until I read some speculative story on the topic in an issue of Starlog.
