Which is becoming evident with those reviews miscounted as positive.

Yep, we don't know ****, Kuat. If there's fanboys in there, how come no one's come to us with Episode IX demands? If there's haters in there, where's their list of demands? All we know is that whoever shot that negative percentage up are probably the same silly sons of ******* you've been talking to in this thread.

;)

we wanted something resembled the Galaxy we fell in love with.

When is it time for reality to set in?

Read the comments about PT, R1, ST very few if anyone has found the magic in the bottle again. Hell folks ***** about RoTJ which was part of the OT.

It pretty clear for many that magic isn’t going to happen again. It isn’t like GL and Disney hasn’t tried.

:lol

Alas no flying Space Jyn for me.

It must kill you that I am one of BR 2049's biggest fans and that I also rated A Ghost Story and Dunkirk WAAAY higher than all the disposable cbm junk we got this year. And even though I'm looking forward to Infinity War my next most anticipated cbm is New Mutants. So you'll just have to accept:

1. That I also see genius in TLJ

and

2. The fact that my opinion is actually much more credible than the majority of the "#metoo" drones who are hating on this flick.

;)

SW will always be better than Superheroes.

I know it seem redundant a lot of us complaining about TLJ but this is the biggest movie franchise in cinema history. We all expected more and something that resembled Star Wars. I understand Johnson thought he was groundbreaking by distorting the Star Wars recipe but at the end of the day we wanted something resembled the Galaxy we fell in love with.

Disney did that with TFA and got ripped to shreds for it.

TLJ is entertaining enough to be a 5/10.

But like TFA, this movie will be quickly forgotten. I doubt people will look back at these films as defining films of the 2010's.

Yeah this sums it up. They will be forgotten. One can say it's going to make billions, but avatar is ultimately forgotten as well, being the highest grossing of all time.

Unless of course the 5 avatar sequels change all that... :lol

I liked TFA, yes it was safe but it introduced some great characters Kylo, Rey, Snoke and Finn. Look at all the speculations over the years about what EP 8 would be about that just solidifies the interest TFA generated.

So you walked out and didn't finish it then? Even for TLJ, that's a bit of an exaggerated score.

I walked out numerous times, but I put it on pause so I watched all of it in the end. It was hard going.

I rated it on IMDB as a standard Star Wars film, but one from a series that I don't count as bearing any significance to the other 7. 1/10 was the only option as they don't permit 0/10.

At some point I'll watch it again in the manner it was meant to be viewed, i.e. a parody. It should score at least 5/10 due to some great acting from the porgs.

At some point I may even accept the entire trilogy, though only as one possible future for the characters. It took many years for me to begrudgingly accept the PT. And even then I have to mentally overlook Jar Jar and the Battle Droids.

You are doing god's work brother

People denigrate the "subjectivity" of fan reaction and consider a Rotten Tomatoes score as being fact. Yet the RT score is based on a very SUBJECTIVE interpretation (which creates a fresh/rotten classification THAT GENERATES THE SCORE) of a review - as my analysis of two key reviews proves.

This, coupled with the fact that RT is transitioning from review aggregator to content provider, says they are MUCH more likely to give in to corporate pressures to doctor results right now.

The other thing people don't seem to get is that critics are in a far weaker position than they have ever been, and Disney in a WAY, WAY stronger position than they have ever been. Give TLJ a bad review? Well, better go buy yourself a ticket for the next Pixar, Marvel or Fox movie, because you WON'T be invited to the premiere any more - and how's that going to sit with your boss at the struggling newspaper/media outlet you work for?

And oh, that massive box office? Firstly, The Phantom Menace was the highest grossing release in 1999. And TLJ is the largest Disney tentpole release (with a several hundred million dollar ad spend) of the new chapter of the most-beloved franchise in cinema history... at Christmas. Anything less than what it's doing would be a stunning surprise. How it does in the weeks AFTER Christmas/New Year is going to be the true measure of how the movie was received by the wider fanbase.

Disney owns Avatar too :lol

It seems that the Avatar land in Animal Kingdom is doing well, so maybe that's part of the strategy to keep Avatar alive, so by the time the sequels come out with some good trailers there's a lot of hype.

I think the reason Avatar has been...forgotten, is because it's a small world with few memorable characters. The cat people are cool, but what else is there? The sequels better expand the world like the Marvel films or Harry Potter.

Quoted for truth.

I am one person who has never left a RT review before - this was the first time due to my disappointment
this movie had some good parts but overall was handled poorly in the story and character development

I know some people liked the film, but I don't think the audience score on Rotten Tomato is wrong or even manipulated to the extent that people are writing articles about to give an excuse why it is so low, if it was really being manipulated, I think we would have seen the same results for Rogue One and The Force Awakens - both of which I liked a lot and have a high audience review scores
