This is all you said that was understandable.

My regret of 2017 is that I didn't see this in a theater.

I am waiting for the Dollar theater in my town to watch it there. i might watch it 10 times since it costs 2 dollars. im planning to watch it several weeks (No i am not trolling or being sarcastic or exaggerating, thats the truth)

Apparently some people are simply threatened by that fact and can only defend their personal yet highly insecure preferences by mocking those who don't agree with them.

You just summed up 70% of the movies section. :lol

Welcome back buddy, just got back from my second viewing as well! :rock

Liemax 3D, 75% full, and the crowd reacted just as they did opening night. Laughed at the jokes, ooh'd and ah'd at the epic stuff, someone let out a "that is cool!" at Holdo splitting Snoke's ship, etc.

Yeah, I can definitely say I love this movie. It really hit me how much I like every single one of Luke's lines and the acting in this film is sensational! And not just Hamill but little moments like Leia and Holdo getting choked up when both saying "May the Force be with you" at the same time. Good stuff.

I was surprised at how quickly everything happened. Before I knew it the casino planet came and went, Rey was off the island and then the tree was burning. The film really moved despite the run time. And I totally missed on my first viewing that Rey hid away the Jedi texts on the Falcon before leaving the island. The scene where the skim speeders go all serpentine with the red dust spraying everywhere might be some of my favorite visuals of the entire saga. Really amazing.

I didn't come away thinking it was the greatest SW movie ever or even best film this year (BR 2049 is still tops) but I did come away with the firm knowledge that I straight up love this flick.

Thanks Khev!

Yeah, SW and Empire are my faves, probably always will be.

Then there is a grey area, where RO, TLJ and ROTJ inhabit this area where it's hard for me to discern which I love the most, since they all have great aspects/qualities to them.

I prefer people who just say they are disgusted and have to post that they are quitting a thread, because people disagree with them. Nothing insecure about that.

At my screening, the only scene that got nervous laughs was Luke throwing away the saber.
And the only scenes that got actual pleased reactions were Yoda, and Holdo's hyperspace suicide.

When I exited the room, I heard a guy asking to his friends "why would they build up Snoke like that if they are gonna kill him?", he was pissed. I'm not making this up, first reaction of that guy after seeing the movie.

Then again, my screening was a hardcore fan one: in the morning (first screening of the day), on a Thursday right after opening day, in English (I live in France), so really only people who wanted to see the movie ASAP and in its purest form were gonna be there. No children.
I have no doubt that this movie entertains the majority of regular audiences, it was made for them. The real split is in the hardcore fanbase.

I have nothing like that around here, maybe I'll get to see it on a 20th anniversary showing.

Mmm mmm, I love the "my audience reacted in a way that supports my point of view" posts. Always good, believable and insightful stuff.

At my showing, an elderly couple was playing popcorn bucket trick and letting out moans that sounded like a dying Bantha.

I probably shouldn't have come back, but 10 days was enough to wash away all the crying and bitching so many of you were doing.

If I said I'd never come back, which i dont remember saying, then my bad.

Hey.. Right now Khev is watching TLJ.. Saying to himself.. " Man this movie IS ****.. I can't let the freaks at the board know my true feelings.. Must find something to like about the film...."

But you know he is struggling.. The sweat is just pouring off him :lol

J/k Khev :lol

Lol! You know I'm not gonna lie, part of me was wondering if I might come away like you did from your second viewing of Kong Island. Luckily that didn't happen. ;)

I'm genuinely shocked that so many of you feel that this film was rife with problems. Even having the majority of the complaints fresh in my mind they just didn't resonate and I found myself simply caught up in the characters and story all over again. Two parts did make me feel like I was watching another film series; the Canto Bight stampede escape felt like something out of a Harry Potter film and that black BB-8 sounding the alarm on Finn and Rose reminded me of the "Rogue robots, rogue robots" sequence from Wall-E but even with those nods I wasn't bothered by them.

And I forgot that the kids were actually playing with a makeshift Luke Skywalker figure at the end. Again it didn't bother me nor did Broom Boy. *shrugs*

you should google it just in case, you would be surprised. sometimes they are not well known. do a search for dollar theaters in your town or state, it might not even be that far
I have to drive 30 minutes to mine,

That's the problem, apparently you were in a ****o theater.

Were you seeing The (Long)Last(ing) Jedi or something?

Edit - sorry, not clever enough to think of a good TLJ **** title

No that's a dig against me, not you, lol. So many people were singing the praises of the PT over the new movies that I thought my time on this board was nearing an end. But then Yoda burned my Dark Crystal books and told me to come back to this thread so here I am. :D

I love Wall-E, I didn't get that as any kind of tribute. I don't think anyone came out hating this movie with just 1 or 2 nitpicks, its mostly film wide experience.

Its for both of you, stop trying to be special, Khev. :lol

that means you are a hologram?

OMG

We're not really here, just force projections.

That's how powerful with the force we are!

Yep. See ya 'round kid.

So to be clear.....is claiming a full theater on par with claiming one didn’t pay / or watch it in a theater because the films are unwatchable garbage????

I get so confused with the back n forth proving ones point.
