The normal EB red #23 is $305 shipped from EB. This (for me anyway) is around $360 shipped. Considering the ST version comes with warm ups, an extra sculpt, & a different uniform to what EB is offering right now (maybe EB makes a pinstripe version later, who knows), I'd say pricing is comparable. If you don't have the ST Tyson figure, then you might not understand the reason this figure might be attractive to some buyers.

I also understand that I only have one lone ST figure, & that it's not a guarantee that this Jordan figure will match the quality of the ST figure I already have. But I've already made the choice to buy, & see how it turns out.

This looks like a nice figure to get, along with the EB version as well. For me, I don't think I'd be satisfied enough with only the ST version, or only the EB version. Both have their strengths I think, & I want both.

I do agree that this might not rocket up in value, like previous ST figures, simply because the licensed EB versions exist. So if your sole purpose is to buy, only to sell for a profit later, then I'm not sure that will work out for you.Unless you sell your pre order for $600 on eBay like I've seen done already :lol

Lawrence do you really think that collectors think like this? :monkey1:wink1:

I agree with your assessment, I have ST Tyson, really like Jordan, and am willing to give my $ to ST for their offering. EB figures of late come with lots of QC issues= too risky a proposition.

EB QC issues are annoying. But I try & get EB to sort it out for me, & they have been satisfactory when I've dealt with them. EB sculpts are kinda hard to ignore too :lol
Anyone have the Storm Toys Tyson and Enterbay MJ?
Yeah I know, it's not the figures you asked for, & they aren't standing in a neutral position, but until somebody does a proper comparison (I'm interested as well), this might have to do for now :lol

I think you can at least get some sort of idea as to how things compare in size. Don't take this as fact, but I'm thinking the ST Jordan might be a fraction smaller than the EB Jordan. Maybe. I'm guessing. Maybe a bit disappointing if true.

EB Kobe (EB Kobe body, custom afro sculpt) & ST Tyson (2nd version) :D

Thanks, also found this pic. They look about the same size, so I think it'd be hard to see when you have them posed differently:

Anyone know or have an idea about this: I only know the Tyson figure from ST, but I assume it won't be too hard to sell the Jordan for around the same price you bought it for, in the future (say around $250-300). Or do figures have to be NRFB for people to pay almost retail for them?

Sorry, never sold a figure before and would like to at least get the ST Jordan to see it in person, but wondering what the general opinion on resale value/possibility is :)

Other factors to consider are that the fanbase for 1/6 figures in North America relating to sports figures is relatively small right now because of unfamiliarity of the product. I've been heavily involved in sports figure collectiing since 1988 and only heard about the EB figs within the past year or so. The forums I visit see a lot of people not even knowing what EB figs are. Many people on these sites see photos of the MJ and immediately ask 'where can I get these?'

To date there have been only Kobe, MJ and the upcoming Lebron produced in a 1/6 scale. While on a very different price scale, Kenner SLU's and McFarlane Sports Picks have been the two major makers of sports figures over the past 25 years and the quality cannot even be put into the same sentence with EB and even ST figs. IF 1/6 sports figs catch on with the sports minded collector base in the U.S. the potential for increase in value in these NBA figs, especially Jordan, is fairly high, especially with very limited releases like the HK Kicks Jordan /500 and even the ST Jordan out of 250. Even with unlicenced product I think that North American MJ collectors will be all over these because of the rarity.

Compare secondary prices for the /500 EB HK Kicks Jordan from eBay to HK Yahoo Auctions. I looked for weeks for an HK Jordan and tried my arse off to get one from an HK Auction because they were so much cheaper. The prices on those BIN's were $200-$300 less than eBay prices but it's nearly impossible for someone in the U.S. to buy from an HK Auction. I ended up buying one from timcent because of the limited availability being in the U.S. and finding a seller that will actually ship overseas. As rare as these /500 and /250 figs are, to U.S. collectors they are much more rare because of the number that are actually available to the U.S. market. I have an ST Jordan coming and would love to have it in time for this year's NSCC in Chicago. I'm not planning on selling it but it would be very interesting to see what people would pay if I were to bring it to that show. Jordan items always carry a premium, especially at the Chicago Convention.

Ahhh, the McFarlane NBA toys. Was pretty into them back then :D

Some of the McFarlane proto's still look okay to me even now. Not in the same quality league as these 1/6 figures, but still pretty nice for what they are.

My guess? I think you could, at the very least, make the price of the figure itself back if you decided to sell later.

You can't really say $360 justifies the figure just because EB is selling for $305, unless it's really high QC handmade to perfection like some of the customs we've seen. We've seen many figures that came more than 1 extra head & extra clothes and they cost less than $300, i'd say you folks are used to EB minimalist in terms of accessories (except Leon) you start to feel that something more is alot more.

Of course if i have the extra cash i'd like to see how both are but i can only afford 1 Jordan based on these price, so it'd be EB for me. I'd say if it weren't for the QC issue EB Jordan should be great enough & it comes with authentic license etc.

I know nowadays 3rd party non license stuffs are getting common and they are indeed sometimes better than the original makers but price is really something to consider. $360 is bit on the steep side when you already have a decent licensed figure.

I'm still waiting for a good Blade Runner figure that is more affordable than the good blade hunter. But i really interested in Scottie since i don't foresee EB to come up with one, just hope it's under $150...

That might be one of the main reasons that the $360 shipped price tag is ok with me. Because the alternative (& the cheapest EB option directly), is $305 shipped.

Don't even bother comparing this to other 1/6 releases that aren't "Jordan". It would make no sense :lol

Jordan seems to have a different pricing curve.

If you can only get 1 Jordan figure, then EB is the way to go if licensing is important to you. But then your stuck with which EB Jordan to buy? :lol

I like the new one shown with the open mouth sculpt & AJ1's.

Some time ago, there was talk about EB doing Pippen & Rodman. Might have been a rumour though :dunno
I imagine Pippen would be in the $200 range like Tyson was.
Lower $200 range shipped, would be cool. But I kinda doubt it.

Some things came to my attention, when I was messing about with the lighting on the latest Storm Toys front view close up of their normal sculpt. & that was, I might not need to upgrade the head sculpt to an Enterbay one after all, if that is what I'm getting, because the sculpt is stellar. The shadows made it a bit difficult to see the details, but once I adjusted the lighting, wow. Why hide it Storm Toys? It's brilliant.

The evolution of the Storm Toys sculpt :D

Don't want to get tooooooooo excited over the July pic though, in case the actual product comes out looking more like March :lol

July sculpt. You can do it Storm Toys :hi5:

I'm with you Lawrence, July 2013 all the way. The March looks like it has been photo shopped, and details blurred. The earliest is a early proto work up I bet. ST tends to tweak things to the better (with only the Tyson V2 to back that up :rotfl--at least following the genesis of that project on FB).

I just hope and  that the last production photos from the last week, where they show the jersey and shorts with-out the bulls logo etc is just due to them turning them over hiding the logos due to, ahem, licensing issues.

It should be noted that on the ST Tyson, the boxing gloves came un-branded, not everlast or cleto reyes, the brands tyson used in his career:(.

I hope this is not a trend continued with "The Legend" Please, please use the Bull's logo at least:pray: if not then an expensive purchase of EB's outfit will be warrented.

I took it as a given, that's the reason the clothing is laid out like that. It would reaaaaally be lame if everything was unbranded. I didn't actually think that much about Tyson's gear not being branded. For some reason I don't think that would be the case with this figure. If it is unbranded, then I guess I'm going the EB uniform route.

July sculpt FTW :D

Thought I'd post this older pic, since it hasn't been posted yet. Mr GQ Magazine Jordan :lol

Superior to the EB body?

I think so.

Edit: Is that the same sculpt shown in April, that was shown in July? Maybe the pic shown in July was simply a really good pic of the sculpt :lol

Based on the recent ST Pippen photos showing the Bulls logo I would think that the Jordan would have the same uniform? I questioned if anyone had seen the final product and because it's not licensed whether or not ST could use the Bulls logo.

Other than the PayPal payment confirmation email from PayPal. I don't think so.

Maybe try to contact Storm Toys directly if you are concerned. I've dealt with Storm Toys before, so I feel kinda confident they will deliver. Even if it's delayed a month or two.

I messaged ST thru Facebook yesterday asking if the Jordan figures came with the 'Bulls' logo on the jersey and the warmup suit. Based on the production photos, as well as the Pippen photo, I thought they would. To my dismay I received this reply "will be all your need".

Obviously broken English but I interpreted that as 'you will need all that' and these will NOT come with any logos on either the jersey or suit. If so, that's 1000% crap based on all of the photos that have mysteriously all been removed from their FB page.

I read that differently. As in "it will have all we need". I still think it's going to come with the logo's. But who knows.

Taking certain pics/info off Facebook isn't that surprising is it? Considering what might happen to Storm Toys, or this figure, if they kept certain pics/info up.
