how many damn outfits does he have in this movie???
seems like he'll have a new outfit every scene.
Why do you always have such a hard on for Ledger Joker stuff Jeff?
Leto has less than 10 minutes of screen time to make an impact in what is essentially an ensemble piece. Nicholson and Ledger have a half an hour to 45 mins of screen time and are pretty much the central point of their films.
Of course Leto isn't going to surpass them, that's why he made this version so extreme. The script gives him little to work with to be memorable.
And this headsculpt is better looking than all the Ledger ones Hot Toys has done. It's a way better exclusive than that over priced, Bank Robber 2.0 crap from 2014. Atleast this is new.
I completely agree. And that's why I believe Leto won't be able to leave the same impression on audiences like Ledger did. Also, I'm sure Ledger's untimely death played a huge role on how people viewed him during the movie.
This is a cool looking figure, but none of Leto's figures will ever come close to BRJ or DX1 or 11.
NahI don't care how good of a Joker Leto will portray, he won't ever top Ledger's performance. No one will.
When and where is Toy Fair 2016?
does that really matter? his arms aren't meant to be visible anyways.
At least five different looks froms the trailers so far:
Straight Jacket
Arkham pants & purple trenchcoat
Tux
Purple dress shirt & silver jacket
White dress shirt & purple bow tie (w/ White silk jacket)
"Toy Fair" is the collective term for all the summer toy shows. They make it sound like it's one specific show, but it's not.
It isn't so much Leto as an actor I have a problem with. I think he's been in some great films but I just really feel like whoever was in charge of designing the look for The Joker in this film that's supposed to be part of a larger universe of films took way too many liberties with how he looks. I would have much preferred something more traditional for the first shared universe version of the character. Instead it looks like some Joker fanboy or cosplayer rather than the actual character.People doubted ledger when he was announced.
Actually, doubted is putting it mildly. That was nerd rage, petitions...
This cycle constantly repeats itself. Leto will make for a fine joker. Granted, none of us can make claims of him being horrible or good since the movie hasn't come out yet, but have a little faith. DC/WB know how much of an impact ledger made. They're not about to screw it up by slapping a random actor into the role. Leto is a fine actor and will bring something new and yet familiar to the table. Also, reimaginations and having different actors portray iconic characters isn't necessarily bad. It gives a fresh brand new spin on things. Eventually staleness sets in when something goes on for too long. Hell a good number of people are getting tired of RDJ as IM. I personally want him to be stark for as long as humanly possible. But it just isn't, and whoever they find next to take on stark is a scary but exciting prospect.
I'm not saying studios always make the right call (such as releasing the theatrical cut of BvS), but in terms of casting, I think they've done pretty damn good so far.
I love ledger as an actor and loved his take as the joker. For his last role, he went out like a king and will forever be remembered for it. But TDK trilogy went out on a bang and have left their cinematic legacy. It will forever have a place in our hearts. But fresh blood is always welcome.
Who knows, there's a chance Leto can outshine ledger. *shrugs*
