Here is my Zod that I transferred over to a Soldier Story body. I think the head would look fine on a Hot Toys body...

How did you recolour the red bands.

I think he just went over it lightly with a Sharpie. He also mentioned that the Sharpie itself had a reddish tinge to it. Can't find where his post was, though.

I was this close to pulling the trigger on this one if for no other reason than nostalgia. But luckily, "quality over quantity" reasoning won out and I'll just wait for the HT figure that will undoubtedly blow anything else before it out of the water. That said, this figure had some positives going for it and I would have picked this up if I had money to burn. Congrats to all who ordered, can't wait to see pics and live vicariously through them!

Tried the Zod head on a truetype, it's too big, just a touch overscale. But I suppose it's a matter of taste.
No doubt the same will apply to Supes.

I was thinking to also put Zod on a Soldier Story body to ensure a height difference between him and Supes.

I am surprised that the MOTU Buzzoff sold out and Superman hasn't yet. I can't believe that MOTU had a bigger following than Reeve superman. Or does Mattel severely underproduce their MOTU line?

Mattel offers a subscription for their MOTU line, so a percentage of the Buzzoff figures were sold before they went up for sale on the 15th.

Plus, MOTU does have a bigger following the Reeve Superman in terms of people that buy Mattel toys. That line is insanely popular, easily dwarfing the Ghostbusters line, which is from a pretty popular film itself.

On top of that, folks are holding out for the Hot Toys Supes at this point. But still, it will sell out eventually. Everything of any value on that site eventually does.

Those pics really show off how good this figure is! The sculpt looks really good. Not spot on but with a good repaint, it will look even better.
