Right up my alley. I can't wait.

So is "RZA" (star, director) different from "The RZA" screen writer?

Looks like it could be worth a rental, though Batista being in it gives me pause :lol

So there!!! A little too much CGI, but it looks great.

On a side note, I wonder how much Tarantino gets paid for simply "presenting" a movie. Dude has pimped himself silly.

Well, as producer he's gonna be affected by how the movie does. And the movie will do better just because his name's there, even if he didn't play that much of a significant role from a creative POV (though I suspect he was involved).

No....they are all the same guy...the guy from Wu Tang :rotfl

And that's Batista....WWE Batista? I know the guys last name in the movie is Bautista..but I didn't connect the dots lol didn't really look at him much.

I don't think he did a lick of production (though I may be wrong).

with the immense acting talents of rza, lucy liu and david "bautista" how could this possibly fail?

anyone want to start a sweepstake on how many times the credits will have rza on them? 4 out of 13 on the poster ain't bad.

LOL X 2

I can't imagine why Tarantino's name would be on the title if he's not director, producer, or writer. The concept idea seems to go to "RZA." But I guess he could just be doing what Django suggests and pimping out his name to anyone who wants to put it in their movie title :lol

he's presented ____ for years without having anything to do with the movie. pretty sure he did it with "hero" and maybe "ong-bak" (or was that someone else?)

just a cheap marketing gimmick. if anything, i'd be less inclined to see the movie if it has some weird endorsement like that.

Yeah he did Ong Bak as well...which was absolutely worth it for him and one of the best fighting movies I have ever seen. Tony Jaa is that dude.

And for this, I think part of the reason I'm digging it is because it will most likely be full of campy acting like the genre it's a tribute to. I'm loving that it's a film that won't take itself too seriously. Even Russell Crowe looks like he's having fun with it. No oscar noms or anything..and I think it works for this movie.

Expecting it to pass/fail based on the quality of acting is the wrong idea imo. Action? Sure. Fight choreography? Absolutely.

i hear what you're saying about the acting. i can usually accept bad acting in films like this, but watching lucy liu in anything is like pulling teeth... out of your butthole. and dave batista is just a colossal ass hat.

as for tony jaa, ong-bak and warrior king were revolutionary for sure. but i felt like he lost it a bit after that and he never had a great screen presence. after seeing iko uwais in the raid, i think there's a contender. the guy can act as well as fight.

I actually think Lucy Liu is great for a film like this..I liked her saturday morning cartoon-thin evilness in Kill Bill. As for Batista, I know nothing about him really aside from seeing him wrestle once or twice. What's bad about him, aside from the fact that he probably can't act his way out of a paper bag?

And I'll agree with Tony Jaa. He's not the most dynamic screen presence, and I think that's why they always cast that short, chubby comedian guy in all his movies. As for his fight scenes though, I think he's the best. Ong Bak was insane, and Tom Yum Goong is still underrated. The plot was so stupid but the fight scenes and stunts were so gnarly. Ong Bak 2 was pretty cool, but Ong Bak 3 sucked all around. But Tony Jaa let himself go and went crazy and ran away from the set because he hated working for the production company he's contracted to and became a monk (it's actually a whole dramatic deal lol). He's supposedly coming out with Tom Yum Goong 2 this year, so if he's serious and back in shape I expect a lot.

The Raid was sweet! Not going to lie, it was a much needed arrival of another martial art star.

batista is just a narcissistic and arrogant a-hole. he made it in wrestling by playing politics and sucking up to the right people. he was never that good, and now he acts like he was the best thing to happen to the company in the last 10yrs. he never paid his dues, belittles better performers than himself and takes himself way too seriously. i'm actually disappointed he got this role as i really wanted to see his move to hollywood fail big time.

He's helping his buddy The RZA make a flick. Simple as that. He got Lucy Lu on board as well.
