Selling Hot Toys is easy. You get back what you paid and then some. I don't stress about it and just buy what I like at the moment.

Umm, now can I ask a question to all of you who are buying not only this but tons of other stuff. I read that many of you will be selling off portions of your collection to either afford or make room or both. I also notice that this is a cycle that gets repeated. So its really more like your "renting" these collectables. Why? Why buy this or what ever is currently the apple of your eye, only to sell it next year with the latest announcments?? I don't sell a damn thing. I pick & chose carfuly what I really want & can afford.

I'm not in the business of "renting" toys.

I'm open to liquidating things to buy Batman collectibles, but for me it's either selling items I've had since childhood that have accured value to buy an item, or it's an item I got in a trade. I never sell Batman stuff unless it's a double. For example, I had a large, loose Major Matt Mason collection that was in outstanding condition with the boxes, etc. (being an only child was awesome.) I sold most of it off to buy a 1949 Batman poster. Goodbye Matt, hello Bat.

Where I draw the line is buying something with the express intent of selling it at an inflated price later. I know this flies in the face of many on these boards, but I feel that "flippers" are scum who prey off other collectors.

Back to the topic at hand, now that I've seen the movie, I'm probably going to get this.

The Bat, and the other Bat vehicles is now my screen saver. I tought this was at least 18 months away, but now, I'm sure we'll see it around March (same as Bane).

After just getting back from seeing the movie i now respect The Bat more than ever.
Before, i reckoned the idea of rotors was crummy, and those "stupid" jet engines out on boom arms looked clumsy.
But now i love the design.
And even though it should be 5 feet long, all of us who have seen the movie know that the craft is incredibly slender. I'd be surprised if it's more than a foot and a half high, even though it will be long and wide.
And i'd make an educated guess that there will be an aluminium frame covered in lightweight plastics.
I'd be very surprised if it needed more than one person to lift it.
Will i buy it?
It really depends on the price.
And i think that how much plastic it will use is going to be decieving.
It may cost less than people have imagined.

Saw the movie and this thing is soooooo bought. Goodbye V1 Thor, Battlesuit Jill, and Avengers pre-orders.

Well said...makes Avengers look like a Disney Channel movie.....sorry did I say that??:lol

Bat is just so mean looking and when it appears onscreen not a wasted second ..it takes care of business whenever you see it...

You answered the question before you asked it. To afford, make room or both. Plus I have attention deficit disorder... are you making fun of my handicap?

Yes, that's exactly it. I used my incredible powers of mind probing & learned all about your handicap so that I may mock you in open forum LOL. & no, I have not gotten an answer to my question....not one that satisfies. Why buy the Bat if your not going to keep it? Or any collectible?

OK, try this: if HT were to have gone back in time and offer the Bat at the same time as the things I'm willing to sell, I would've chosen the Bat. In that case, I would've never purchased the things that I'm willing to sell and it wouldn't even be an issue for you. It's all timing... perhaps the Doctor can explain better:

The design is pretty good and it has a pivotal role (sort of) in the movie, but that's no reason to buy a gigantic piece of plastic that probably wouldn't fit on any display cabinet and has higher chance of being even more brittle than the Tumbler. Plus the price is going to be a record breaker for the most expensive plastic product.

Could wait and see if they put out a model of it. Cheaper and lighter.

But it won't be in scale with the other figures or batpod or tumbler. I guess, if you got money to spare, go for it.

Why stop there? If you're already getting this massive chunk of awesome, why not...

get a screen accurate platform built with the built-in armory?

With real water stream and cavern diorama? It'd be EPIC!

Well...
If The Bat was on that armoury pedestal, there would be no way to get the suit on...
You'd have to go over, take off, land in the cave somewhere else, walk back up to the pedestal and suit up, then walk back over to The Bat.
Lol.
:)

In the film, The Bat is docked on a platform that raises from the water in the caves. In the scene where it docks, you can see the outline of where the armory raises on another part of the platform adjacent to The Bat.
