you do realize even if HT put this into production, with their current backlog and delays, we wouldn't see this till WB relaunches the franchise anyway :lol

So true but EB has 0 logistical experience with vehicles so we know if they both started production today, EB would still be last to market...probably waaaayyyyy last...

At 1/6 it would have to be a special isolated spot for sure. Even at 1/12 the space I had in mind will still remain as it makes most sense. I intend to utilize the space above my staircase. Dead spot anyways but perfect for getting bottom and side view of it without using a ladder.

I dont believe this rumour .. The only sure thing .. Is to wait for a confirmation from hot toys ..

Im sure that The Bat will be in production later next year or begining of 2014 .. Right now hot toys came out with a lot of batman products .. Without thinking if the batmobile 1989 and 1966 will be a sold out . The tumbler sold out first time and the second rum have been very well sold ... Also the batpod and the bane and joker and catwoman .. Etc

So until i can see a 100% confirm by hot toys in the web page or true facebook this is just a rumour ...

I refuse to believe .. This is a cancel

Yup...just like the Green Lantern cancellation...came out in an interview several months ago and, if I'm not mistaken, still have nothing "official" on their website.

:exactly: HT never do any "official" messages regarding cancellations, and tbh we were half expecting the Bat to be cancelled anyways

I think you're setting yourself up for disappointment. Many of us want HT to go ahead and make this in 1/6, but all indicators point to it being a non-starter. Sure, there's been no official announcement, but as already pointed out, Hot Toys don't do official cancellation announcements. In addition, it would appear that Howard has said (off the record to more than one person) this thing is dead in the water in 1/6.

its so annoying that they even bothered showing us this thing.

I rather them say they were making it, and then say "yeah, R/D blah blah, no go on this project" (like the GL line)

THe fact that we have been teased with WIP, its been on display at shows with lights and functioning motors makes me mad that now they are scratching the project.

Yeah especially painful when we get to see the actual prototype and are happy with (nobody has done any comparison and nitpicking even!!)

Yeah. It's a pity.
I for one have no idea how the thing could possibly have been able to be held up by the strength of the tail as it does in the movie, but that was not a nitpick, merely a logistical problem that could no doubt have been solved with a bit of clever thinking.

That position is what I was hoping for when they announced the Bat. Even with a stand to support it I would have loved if they made it in a "landed" pose, with the back curving ever so nicely :drool

I know how i can achieve the same effect. I'd add the hinges for the tail, and have very strong magnets to hold it in the down position, and smaller magnets to keep it in the up position.
But i am not sure on being able to make them from something that would bear the entire weight. I might need to get the rear fins cut from steel sheet.

Are you thinking to include lights?

Well just because it's curved doesn't mean the back has to actually support it, you can make it just for show and have a stand holding it in a different spot. Besides that, when it lands do only the back panels bend down or does the main structure shift as well?

Either way if you can build it in a landed pose I'll buy a ticket to Scotland, find you and buy you a free cupcake :lol

Yes. Although i could make the thing without lights if anyone didn't want them, i am going to approach a friend of mine to make a battery powered light harness that can also be run off the mains so it could be plugged in and left on. I will see how feasible that is. I will have to get one built so i can get the lengths needed for the wiring harness. I can't imagine anyone who wanted one of these would want no lights...

The back doesn't curve down when it lands. Just the tail swings down. The hull ALWAYS has that spinal curve to it.

Thanks Victor!
I hope i am able to get this done to everyone's satisfaction.
Also, here's a short clip where you can see the tail holding the craft and then swinging up.
Although that's the most important part, i let the clip run till the Bat meets it's end.
